I'm still running them without any issue. Yeah, I had to buzz the edge of the coil bucket with an angle grinder. Took 30 seconds and wasn't a big deal.

I'd do the JBA's in a heartbeat over these now. They weren't available at the time, but that price is damn competitive for what you get.

Here is what driving 15-40 mph through a fire road looks like. By the way thats my lower arm bushings making all that noise. The arm goes over the bucket a lot of times.

Sounds to me like rubber bushing noise than anything else. Someone will pop in with a suggestion/recommendation. Eastern North Dakota is way too flat for that much movement. Now the comments begin!

Genuine question - is anyone in here really frugal enough to not spend $100 more on some UCA’s that are Made in the USA?

Maybe it isn’t a sign of poor engineering then. Or, it suggests they all have some engineering deficiencies. If this part is designed specifically for the Tundra only, its sloppy work on all companies. Its obviously not to big of a deal but I would expect more for a 5-900 dollar part. I wonder if SPC has had this issue at all?

Yup. I assumed it was my upper arm bushings but when I rebuilt my suspension it turned out to be the lower arm bushings. That surprised me.

FYI Freedome offroad Uniball UCA don't actually use uniballs. I bought a set and sent them right back. They literally just use balljoint internals in a slightly different cup and call them uniballs.

Not until we know how many we need to make a difference which is why I am waiting. I never knew an UCA poll could be so fun.

Something fishy bout them showing a kit with flipped ball joints one one pic and uniballs on another. Different bushings too, looks like different arms.

Yeah design wise and bushing color it does, I thought the same. I also noticed one part of the add says ball joint, the other part says uniball. If oversight is that bad on product descriptions I get turned off.

So I finally got some suspension parts ordered and I’m trying to figure out which upper control arms to go with. I sent an email to Josh at firstgen Offroad to see what his thoughts are since he seems to be the guru on these trucks. He does offer them on his website but they are sold out.

That guy never responded to me. I'd consider JBA if I were to do it over again. I think they are a little cheaper than the SPC arms I have.

The JBA even have that fancy red bling factor.

I paid like 200 bucks for the freedom arms after an eBay coupon back when I got them. They refunded another 50 later when I asked about them contacting the coil buckets.

For that, they were a deal.. But, for three fiddy? o_O

At what point are new UCA’s required? I’m still in the process of budgeting the rest of my build and wondering if these can be done later. The Toytec coils I have are set at 2.5” of lift but can be dialed down if need be. What’s the breaking point?

2-2.5" you can get by without if you stay on road but upper ball joints will wear out a bit quicker. 2.5" and higher you need the arms or you're gambling on the upper ball joints and best of luck to your alignment tech.

So 2.5” I will or will not need them lol? I don’t mind buying them if they are absolute have to but if they can wait a bit, I’ll use the funds for some other items until later.
