I’ve got a 2011 limited trd off road and I put a good sized dent in the front bumper so I want to replace it. I have the one piece front bumper which doesn’t look compatible with a lot of the front bumpers.

Can I just order the upper valence for the front bumper and then get an aftermarket one?

Are there any front bumpers that anyone would recommend that aren’t terribly expensive and wouldn’t need a suspension upgrade?

I had this one on my 2013. It's the Rough Country for the 14 and up. All you need is the 1/2 inch bumper shims. It was $900 with the lights, and weighs only 98 lbs. I had it Line-Xed.

I circled the part of the bumper that isn’t the same on my tundra. That piece is part of the whole bumper for me. Which is what I’m wondering if I can buy another one of those or if they would even fit.

also what does the bumper shim do? I didn’t realize that was necessary as well.

The shims push it forward to line up body lines with the bumper. Alot of guys use them for tire clearance as well.

Sorry for my ignorance but could you just cut the lower part of your existing bumper off to fit an aftermarket bumper?

Post a pic of your bumper so we can see what you are looking at.

no you’re correct, ADD actually suggests doing this in their install manual but it just seems to me that cut would be visible and ugly. Atleast for the ADD style bumper.

I can’t see myself successfully cutting the bumper and it not looking like shit. I’m also not sure how you would finish the cut so that it doesn’t rust. But if anyone has done it successfully I’d love to hear how.

Hopefully it’s visible in my attached pic that there are no separate pieces.

If that indentation goes around the whole bumper it will make a great reference for your cut. Really not too tough of a cut at all, get a dremel and some tape and you should be good to go. To finish just sand it down, you can add some rubber welting to finish if you want a cleaner look
