You have to set the app up right. When set to max it blows the dick off of the antenna.

That's a fair point but so is when you are driving in an area with no cell service but can still get a satellite signal. To each their own.

I didn't even know this setting existed, thanks! I tried it out and couldn't tell a difference between this and antenna. I still fell the antenna signal is better, IMO.

That's so weird. To me it was like the difference between regular radio and HD. It's pretty drastic.

I'm stock, but it seems like as good of an excuse as any to upgrade.

Dmx1057xr, meastro RR, 2012 tundra platinum.
Don't know if u ever got the tpms issue solved but I had the same issue, got every feature displayed except for tpms..
Called Crutchfield, Idatalink and Kenwood, noboby had a solution for me.
So jus for sh%ts and giggles I disconnected my battery for 3 minutes and bingo, evrythings perfect.

    Working on it :-)
Thanks for the info. I went back to the previous firmware version on the RR and now have TPMS working. I still do not have fuel or parking sensors working. I have a 17 1794.

Broke down and bought a DMX1057XR on vacation in Colorado Springs at a Car Toys. Wishing I would have stepped up for the navigation I lost wifi a lot on the way home. It's been a learning curve l, I've never had a fancy radio before. The sound quality is a lot better with my JL audio setup I've had for a year or so.

I have had a few instances of CarPlay problems with my iPhone 12 Pro and buffering. It only happens when connected for wireless carplay -- if I am wired it doesn't occur.

    @Eric104
Tbh My last head unit had built in navi and I probably used it twice in the two years I owned it.
Its android auto and carplay all day everyday, might jus be that route u using. Don't think its worth the extra $400 for the navi unit.
    Love my 1057xr

I have a Samsung S20+. When we were in Colorado Springs while driving though 1 area the head unit would say lost wifi and android auto would shut off then come back when you launched android auto. Did the same thing while roaming on the trip home.

What dash kit did you use? Mine sticks out at least 1/2" if not one more inch than yours does.

Looking into maybe picking up this unit. I came from the Dasaita - and because the bezel vibrated and moved a ton - I went to a DDX9906

Any issues with vibration or moving of this bezel?

Would you be able to provide what all I need to install this unit and keep all the stock features? Ie steering wheel adapter, xm radio, GPS, etc. Anything that may be helpful in my install. I am not tech savvy or an audiophile so I'm leaning heavily on users that have this set up.
Also, does this head unit still display on the dash/speedometer?

    Thanks!

I believe it doesn't display on the Tundra gauge cluster. If you use idata maestro, you can retain steering wheel controls, tire pressure sensor display, back up sensor display, rpms, and other engine codes.

Thanks for that info. Guage cluster is the word I was looking for. Lol

Is it pretty much plug and play installation? Or are there any crimps, etc I will have to make?

No, I want to order it but make sure I order everything I need at one time because once I take everything apart I want to be able to complete the install

@Jamv93 here is everything I ordered for mine. You can get the iDatalink rr module instead of the rr2 and save a few bucks.

I will mount the microphone in stock location. Others have done it with aftermarket mics and they sound good.

Curious on a couple things (Since you have OEM Audio Plus system)...
How do you like the system? Would you buy it again?? This is the system I've been looking at but it's a lot of money to spend. User input is key to my purchase :)
Also, did you "Re-flash" the OEM system after installing the Kenwood unit? According to an email string from OEM, it needs to be reflashed if changing away from the Stock head unit. Its free and they will provide the file for you.
Just curious if you went through the process and how it went.

    Thanks in advance

I've got pretty mixed feelings about the OEM Audio Plus system. It's an excellent system at low to mid volume from a sound clarity perspective, but it's also fighting a terrible audio environment (a stock double cab with no sound deadening). One of these days I'd love to go through and mat the cab on my truck but the amount of things I'd have to pull out (seats, panels, etc) to do so is not really appealing to me. I'm not entirely sure I would spend the full asking price on it though, especially given you can lego-set yourself together a system from some of the other reputable shops here. From a PnP perspective, it's excellent.

I didn't reflash anything when swapping between the OEM head unit and the Kenwood unit. I reached out to O+ a few months ago asking if it was possible to tweak the DSP and was told there was no way to update the programming on the unit once delivered, nor do I see how you would do it given that there are no USB ports or anything on the DSP.
