    Just had a tuff country 2" leveling kit installed Saturday. Will likely move to Bilstein 6112 in a couple years when my shocks wear out but I had to do something to get rid of the rake for now. Anyway I need extended bump stops to prevent shock/suspension damage. Ya? Where is best place to get them? What size?

    Get the Wheeler's Super Bumps, don't bother with extensions. They use a material that is way better than OEM at absorbing bumps and makes the ride smoother when you hit the bump stops.

    Wheelers also sells spacers in a few different sizes. I've got a set of bumps with 1/4" spacers on the way. They have 15% off now....

    I was looking at Durobump but they're a bit pricey $$$

    They still compress to OE height so he will still need to shim to avoid coil bind / block height issues.

    I checked out the wheelers ones but they only say to put them on the back of the control arm and leave the the ones on the front for harder bumps. If the wheels bump stops still allow the suspension to bottom out on a hard bump then I'm not gaining anything except a smoother feeling ruined spring/shock. Right?

    Good point, i would shim the Wheeler's. Worth the upgrade while you're in there imo.

    I looked at the coachbuilder extensions. Seem pretty good. Fair price but the website say they are for 3" to 4" lifts. Mine only being 2" are they going to be too long? Don't want to hit the bump stops before necessary.

    Ended up ordering the coachbuilder bump stop extensions. David said they would work great for my application. Got them the other day and installed them tonight. After installation there is only about 3/4" of room between the bump stop and the lower control arm. That's on the back bump stop. There is even less room in the front. Sure seems like I should have more up travel then 3/4" before breaking something on my suspension. Right?

    I thought the same with mine but apparently it’s the angles and distance from the wheel, 1/4” on the bump stop Is 8” of suspension travel etc

    I don't remember exactly. Just read about it several places here in the forum. Apparently the stock suspension can compress too far once it has the spacers. I'm sure you probably have to hit it pretty hard and it probably rarely happens as lots of people are running a level kit without putting in bump stop extensions but I wanted to be safe.

    From my limited knowledge, whenever you lift using spacers or shims you need to extend the bumpstops. This is due to the fact that if the shocks reaches full compression before the lower control arm is stopped by the frame and bumps, the shock takes the remainder of the force from the bump, which can basically taco your shocks

    @Tundyfundy yup,

    Even some aftermarket (like bilstein) setups still require a bump shim to be used. In bilsteins case its due to block height.
