Can a certified Toyota Mechanic estimate the cost of replacing the timing belt and other things involved with that at around 172k miles? I've seen a wide range of prices and I'm not sure which ones are the closest to having it done at a Toyota dealership. I'm not looking into doing it myself, my dad might want to but I've seen people have suggested not doing it yourself if you haven't done it before. I might get the water pump, tensioner, and pulleys Appvnreplaced along with the timing belt like a few have suggested online. Soon, I'm going to pick up two vanities that will fill up the back, maybe 200 or 300 extra pounds driving on the interstate. I'm just unsure of what to do before then.SHAREit

Just call your local Toyota dealer(s) for estimates based upon your local rates. Here in central IL, just had timing belt, water pump and serpentine belt done together on our 2006 Sequoia (low mileage only around 95k) at local Toyota dealer. $1,000 out the door roughly $500 parts / $500 labor. Could've probably saved a $100 or so with an independent but I wanted my local dealer / master tech to do the work. KBB values our sequoia at $10k but I wouldn't let it go for $25k. It has the "million mile" 4.7L and just fits our family well, has towed well, etc and wouldn't have bought the Tundra without the incredible experience so far with it. Congrats on owning one and thank you for your service sir!
