Was I supposed to remove this piece when installing TRD skid plate on a 2WD 2020 Platinum? I watched lots of installation videos but none for 2WDDD438139-7B98-4D09-BB9E-ECBE85F20777.jpg9BB4207D-31D3-468D-AE1F-1E1393FE465A.jpg

Looks like a folding chair to me. The previous owner may have run over a picnic or outdoor gathering.

My wife had her Tacoma get whipped by a folding chair. She backed up over it and the rear fender got beat up. The chair was okay though....

I dont remember seeing that piece, but I have a 4wd. Do any holes line up with the skid plate holes?

Had to remove the two front most bolts between tow hooks and couldn’t get the skid plate to fit without removal. 2WD doesn’t have a factory skid plate so that’s why I’m asking.

On the “Ask a Mechanic” thread someone replied that it is supposed to come off which is a relief. All the chair jokes were pretty funny though. Thanks
