Thanks. Hopefully this will allow me to get a few good hunting spots in the umatilla national forest. It will be on the back of the truck until I can get a off-road trailer to put it on.

Anyone in here need a wiring harness for a tekonsha brake controller? Took my brake controller out of my Tacoma before I traded it in for the tundra and the wiring harness is for 15-17 tundras or 16+ Tacoma’s. I have a 2014 tundra. Part number 3031-P. Free of charge if you can pick it up (central WA). Or pay for shipping and it’s yours. Figure I’d post it up here before Craigslist or something.

There's a "Pay it forward" thread in the marketplace where you can post (even without 50 posts) - if you don't find someone in this thread that needs it (I've got the integrated TBC), you might get some action there (and people there would be willing to pay shipping).

So last night the wife tells me” hey I won a dozen donuts from an IG giveaway” and asks if I can pick them up.
So I say sure where is this place at?
    She says down off Grand.
F&!$ I have to go downtown. Haaaa. Ok.

Well loaded up the kids and went to pick up our free breakfast.
Now I don’t go anywhere near downtown and haven’t for years. My work sends me down frequently and it’s never for a good reason but that’s during the night. Today was the first time in the day in probably over a year. Man that place looks like garbage to put it nicely.

Anyway then stopped at the store for some bacon for the bacon wrapped turkey breasts for tomorrow. Also grabbed a tri tip just because.

If you need to hit the store today good luck!

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Im off to take way to much preworkout and hit the gym. Then maybe finish some shopping online.

I was downtown Portland about a year ago. It was sketchy then and I bet it is horrible now. Are IG donuts worth it?

Downtown Seattle is being described as looking like a war zone. I drove through some of the area outside downtown proper last weekend and it was so depressing. Every park is overrun with a homeless camps and many have spilled out into the surrounding areas. So depressing.

Portland is probably pretty similar to Seattle. Literally garbage everywhere.

Yeah the Donuts were good. The boxes were already made so no picking. I wouldn’t make that trip again but that’s due to the downtown issue.
There’s only 1 sweet treat place I would go downtown for and that’s cookies. That place is so good I would push my Tundra the 20 something mile round trip for.

Our holiday tradition for years has been to take the Max downtown with our kids and spend a day soaking up “Portland”

not going anywhere near it this year...

You know that got me wondering if the Portland Christmas tree lighting was still a thing. So I googled it and I guess it’s going to be online only. No watching it in person.

I wonder if even the shop local initiative will even help businesses this year or not.

A lot of the little shops we would go to have already announced closing their doors since the latest “freeze” - many won’t go so far as actually stating the correlation but it’s been a significant number all in the same short period of time. And to my knowledge, Powell’s is still not open to public and that was always one of the major stops for us. Usually we’d tack on a play at the Armory too, but none of that this year either.

Shops that were on the cusp dropped out last spring around us. Now it feels like another round is happening.

My cousin and his husband are trying to open a wine and chocolate shop on Capital Hill (Seattle) right now. Horrible timing...and I'm stressed they won't last due to this environment.

@RainMan_PNW you want some hand-made dark chocolates to clear the slate with the wife, these will do that...but they don't deliver yet.

I had to re-read that twice, but then you did say Capitol Hill. ;) My wife’s good friend used to bounce at a bar there, but that’s been a few years. We always had a great time visiting her.
That would be a bit of a drive for a box of chocolates, but I might be able to make an excuse to visit our office in Soho and pick some up. I am all for supporting a small shop that carries a good product.

You guys are awesome...they're hoping to get into their shop before Christmas. They're working under some goofy "boutique" business license that allows them to work out of their house, but cannot do mail orders. It's all pickup in their driveway right now. I'll let you know when they're open for business!

That’s how the cookie business I was speaking of started. She now has a store in downtown and ships. They are biggest, craziest most insanely delicious cookies you will ever dream of.

Oh for sure! Maybe I’ll add a 3rd box and drop that at my friends house in Washougal.

The first ones we tried were the Red Velvet ones and a chocolate chip of some kind.

I just remembered my daughter wanted a giant cookie cake from her that we never got. Going to look into that since her b day is in a couple weeks.

December birthdays rock... sure, it’s close to Christmas, but it’s like having an extended Christmas!

...of course, I might be a little biased. :notsure:

Hers was helped by the doctor. I was on my way to Afghanistan 8 days later....or at least I was supposed to be. So we just casually drove to the hospital that morning...no freaking out or panicking.

Gonna throw this out here - anyone that is in the greater Portland area that needs Techstream-specific customization or programming, I have a cable and version that “officially” supports through 2016 but appears to do just fine with the newer trucks too.

I recently used it to turn off the seatbelt warning chimes on my truck, a coworker’s 2021 SR5, and another coworker’s 2019 SR5. It also gives me access to see/switch all of the other “dealer-only” customizations (as listed in the back of the user manual). Previously with my 2008, I also used it to program a new key and fob when I did one of the switchblade keys from eBay because I was tired of having a separate fob and key. I think possibly the only thing it may not allow is changes to the core security settings, but not sure (never bothered with glass break sensors or security systems previously).

I’m more than happy to meet up with someone looking to save the $50+ a dealer wants to program a key or customize some settings (if you can even get them to do it). Most of it doesn’t take more than 5-10 minutes, even with how slow the ODB interface is. I figure it’s also a great way to meet some fellow Tundra owners...

    Cheers!

Pardon my ignorance...but I think I remember reading somewhere that say Platinum’s could come with remote start but left turned off. Any chance your familiar with that?
If not I may be interested in seeing what I need to get from Toyota part wise to make that happen.

I guess that would be another benefit of not having push to start also. HAHA 2020’s I told you so:rofl:.

If I completely wrong(has happened before) I’ll just do aftermarket next year some time.

Mods take so long when the wife gets wind and wants it for her 4Runner too.
