True.... Back to the internet to figure shit out. I want rubbers on my trd Rims to give an aggressive look and to get me out of the mud. What size are you 3/1 guys running? Help me make my MGM tundo look mean

If you're not looking to lift and new wheels, etc., look hard at 305/65r18s. Both bfg KO2's and falken WP at3W come in that. Super aggressive looking all terrains.

275/70r18 looks good to me from the side on a stock trd setup. . Every once in a while (rarely) they'll look too slim from a certain angle and I'll wish i had gone bigger/wider.

You'll need 1.25" spacers on a 3/1 lift with 35's and stock wheels as well. Probably a CMC and massaging the plastic in the wheel wells. Just start looking through the build threads and you'll get ideas. Off the top of my head a few of the guys on a 3/1 and 35's are @Almaboy, @COMiamiFan. @boardude and @Sean266 are on 305/70-18's as well.

Look at the Tire/Wheel thread, look for a white 3rd gen with RockWarrior wheels. On stock suspension, he stuffs 35's and it's in his build thread. I can't remember his username off the top of my head.

Lots of guys on other sites claim to be running 35's on stock wheels and no lift on a TRD Pro, or 2.5-3" lift on an SR5.

I have my doubts - if so it's got to be with a caster that's out of spec.

I run BFG K02's in 285/65r18 with +12 offset wheels and I get very minor rubbing with wheels locked in reverse. In my case it's just a portion of the fender liner that I've been too lazy to heat gun and reshape. I rubbed with these same tires on stock rims too with wheel locked in reverse..

I can take a set of Pro or RW wheels, throw them on my SR5 with 35's and it will minor rub. Mainly because a true 35 is massive.

Do yourself a favor, and go read the massive write up on wheels and tires AND PICTURES. Plenty of guys here running 35's on stockers.

OP here are some pics of my stock trd with 275/70r18 KO2s. Different angles, lighting can change the way any truck or tire looks so I provided several different shots.

I was dead set on no lift. And just wanted to fill out the wheel well some and have a tire that was capable to handle the weather I live in. This met that requirement.

Buuuuut now here I'm looking at lifts (maybe) and larger tires. What ideally I think these trucks (and my truck) should look like, for my esthetic anyway, is what @joonbug 's truck looks like. Check out his build thread. It helps that he's a D.C. Silver sky too.

So the 33x12.5, did you have any issues with a 3/1 lift? I know small or whatever but I have come across a good deal. If i mount them, I will just have to mold and tweak plastic with a heat gun? or should i be good

Stock pro height is equal to a front level on a stock tundra. I had zero issues rubbing with mine. and yea you will mold the fender liner and you should be good.

Ok I am glad you chimed in, seemed like no one could give an answer. You've done it so heck yeah! Now my wife will be happy since I'm not dropping 5k on rims, tires, and lift. she won again

No problem. The pinned wheel tire post helps alot and i go thru the 3rd gen builds almost on a daily since it slow at the shop. You can find just about everything. I just ordered new wheels for my pro so ill see if my math is good and i got the correct offset.

You can put any size on there, dont go over 12.50 wide. With a 12.50 wide mud terrain you'll need a spacer to clear your ucas because of the side lugs. You'll need a lift to clear 35s. I ran 3" and 35x12.50x18 and 325 65 18s on my old tundra with 1.5" wheel spacers

Also nitto's are true to their size, and a hair over. Where some 35s are actually 34ish. I've been debating this for a week now, I bought the trd cause of the rims.

I should have been more clear.

I meant a lot of people are claiming to run 35's with a TRD Pro equivalent lift and claim to have not had to CMC or do any other trimming or reshaping. Clearly you can run 35's with a 3/1 lift, but not without some additional work.

After a huge match with my wife... No decision... I see a 6" lift with 35x12.5. Just gotta do it and deal with the wrath I create. Custom shop assured me all they need is 1 day and 4k

Background story... Match was over when I almost proceed an order for Rims and Tires. She got mad over me "not talking to her about it" when I did talk to her she consented haha whatever. She was utterly mad at the choice of rim I chose for my truck.. Haha long story, learning what hers is hers and what's mine is hers....

Needless to say nothings been ordered and now I am full steam 6" lift, Rims, and tires with zero F**KS given

35x11.50r18 nitto trail grapplers on stock trd pro NO MODS! They fit man I know I could have run 12.50 easily. I even put a 1.25" spacer and just had to move the fender liner behind the fog light up a 1/2" it was slightly rub in full lock.

I have a 2012 Tundra XSP. It’s basically the limited 4x4 southeast region package it came with 20x9 BBS 5 spoke and 305/50r20. I have 1” before tire rubs on the upper control arm at the ball joint so I’m assuming 33x12.5 will fit with no rubbing. Anyone have any insight? Not lifting or leveling.

Might need a spacer to clear the uca depending on the tire you pick, mud tires have an aggressive side wall.
Spacer will also push wheel out little further to get into the spot where you shouldn't rub, or as bad. Shim the bumper forward and remove the front mudflaps, should be good
