Lucky to have a forum of info...thanks! I have a 2004 Four Runner, it is indestructible keeping it, but needed a truck, thus now a new Tundra Crew Max. I researched side body molding on the forum no conclusions from one request. I live in ATL and it is difficult to avoid those people even when parking in the West lot, they still find you. Not big on the idea, however looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance! Happy Turkey Day.

    Welcome.

Best bet other than parking in left field is a good set of sliders or wide side steps to catch doors, maybe a huge lift too (if this is what you are asking).

    Function before sparkle.
While door sill protectors on the inside are common, side body mouldings to protect from door dings are not a common addition to Tundras.

I park in the wilderness parking annex away from all the inconsiderate arseholes.

But, when forced to park with the masses, I second step bars (or skids) as a plan. The bottom of their door has to clear that step bar to ding you, and that eliminates maybe half the squatty passenger vehicles. In a just universe, maybe they'll get a nice ding in their door edge. Painted side moldings are a compromise plan; they'll prevent dings in the sheet metal, but then the paint is scarred on the molding. :(

I appreciate your shared thoughts. I will most likely not add anything, as I enjoy the long walks from my parking spot. Any other cool ideas to tweak this great truck?
    Happy Turkey Day everyone! ....enjoy.

If you want ultimate protection, Xpel has door pre-cuts. The ppf will cover your entire door so your paint will be very protected. It's not cheap, but it's the perfect time to do this when the truck is new. Do paint correction, have the Xpel applied, then ceramic coat the Xpel. This will give you scratch, ding and UV protection. Xpel is thick enough that it absorbs some smaller and minor impacts, but it won't protect the truck from larger dents.

Hey thanks! Watched a few videos very interesting product. I will certainly look into it more, as the front nose is a must for trips out West. I have it going to the shop now for a door ding and small smooth dent on roof from the last hurricane. Will need to shop out some quality installers in Atlanta, if anyone know of any.

:monocle: Can raise the ride height, therefore their door will hit the running boards. And get the running boards that extend out more.

Thanks, I will check out Atlanta PF. I am meeting with a shop this week, to fix a small top cab dent from our last storm throwing branches.

    Joyful Holidays to everyone.
