Yeah baby, it’s almost my favorite holiday of the year. So post pics and stories on the meal prep, cooking and final product!

I’ve got two birds this year. One 20lb, one 21lb. Smoking both on Saturday and delivering piles of meat to my family and friends on Sunday. We may not be having a big get-together this year, but I'm still cooking the birds!F44C769E-7301-478D-8E8A-257FB388DC1E.jpg4E780F43-D582-45C8-B681-D6BA08644DB7.jpg

37hr soak in the brine, rubbed down with EVOO, S&P and into the smoker. Temp set to 275, so I should get about 250 at the grill.

    Now the wait...

Bird on left is on of the All Things BBQ Turkey kits. It is the Classic Holiday. Comes with a sweet and citrusy brine with some herbs in it. Then cooked with an herby seasoning. Looks promising!

Bird on the right is a BBQ bird. Injected with butter, How To BBQ Right BBQ rub, basted with his sauce the last 10 minutes.

Birds cooked to 155 in the thickest part and continuing to cook. Both of them look really good with some great seasoning and crispy skin!!!!

Warming up the grill right now. Not going traditional this year... I had a 6-bone prime rib that needed to get cooked, so that’s our plan.

Progress so far. Rubbed under and over skin, spicey side and normie side. Injecting in an hour and smoking it with a blend of maple, apple, cherry, and hickory.

    She’s on the grill.
Rubbed last night with EVOO, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. 20 cloves of garlic cut in half and stuffed into “stab wounds” all over the top side.
15 min fat side down at 500, then again bone side down. 2-1/2 hours at 180 to smoke, then finish it at 350 degrees until it hits 130 internal.

Wife handles the Thanksgiving turkey. I bake the sides and pie. Made an apple and my milk chocolate bourbon pecan pie with some of the pecans we picked out of our yard. One of the many things I'm thankful for is this Forum (yeah, I'm a bit of a sadist...). I hope you all had a great and safe Thanksgiving.

Tried the oil less fryer for the first time this year. Turned out great and was easier and faster than ever. When I'm not smoking it, I'll be doing this from now on. 2.5 hrs total cook time. Came out perfect.20201126_104226.jpg

Didn’t get any plate pictures... put a fork in me, cuz I am DONE!

The bone pile (except for the ribs that the dogs are gnawing on...) - daughter’s boyfriend’s family brought over a 15lb turkey and smoked mac-n-cheese and another bottle of wine.
