I have new (400 miles on them) Toyo MT 285/75R18’s. They were installed at the local Four Wheel Parts shop (4WP). Alignment and balance done as well.

As I drive I have to keep constant pointer finger and thumb pressure on the wheel to prevent it from drifting right. If I don’t do anything it takes about five to seven seconds at 65mph and the truck will be in the right lane.

I called 4WP and was told that all the Toyo MTs they instal drift to the right. Ummm. Okay? So I said well if I swap fronts will it drift left and does Toyo know about this nation wide crisis? Anyways, before I take it back for a free alignment because the first one wasn’t done properly, has anyone else actually heard of this issue?

    Thank you.

Fuel delete mod Cup holder upgrade
Careful in the wrong combination you'll be stuck making tank turns unable to get anywhere.

Exactly. Toyo probably said “as a small unknown company it will benefit us if we make tires that go right. In Australia and Japan it kills everyone.

Mine pull right but I highly, highly doubt it’s because of the tire. I think my alignment has gotten whacky but haven’t had time to check it again. Do you have your alignment sheet?
    Causes for pulling right:
    Negative camber on PS
Less caster on PS than DS
Perfectly even alignment with crown in the road sloping down on the right

We ran them on several trucks through the years & everyone of them pulled to the right.

Mine didn’t pull right for the first 100+ miles after alignment but then some wacky things happens and I can almost guarantee my camber is off and that’s what is causing mine to pull right. No tire should pull to one side or the other. That’s just silly.

Had one set pull to the right on 3 different trucks. Also had a set of St Maxx that did the same thing. I run the first 20k on my Tundra and then swap them to my wifes FJ and then to my work truck to run them bald.

Well I am glad I posted this question first rather than being upset at the 4WP person. I will still get the alignment specs to see if there is anything I can tweak to combat it a little bit. I do still love the tire though so far.

Hopefully 4WP didn't sell you the tires. I be more than slightly annoyed if they sold me tires with a know issue.

Yes they did. And they did the instal and alignment. Hence my original post asking the forum if this is a known thing (which it appears to be) before I go over there and dig deeper into what can be done, if anything.

I need a raise too but they are already paying me more than I'm worth. Would be nice to get bumped up to $4 an hour this year.

Interesting that they would pull consistently to the right, but I acknowledge it seems like a know. Issue with the MTs on multiple sites. Bummer, I was seriously considering these as my next set of tires. Scratch those from the list.

I have a set of MTs with less than 100 miles on them. They were pulling to the right before the alignment and after the alignment. Tech cross swapped the fronts and no more pull. My alignment specs are right on. I drove it around at highway speeds about 30-40 miles and can't notice a pull.
