Hi, I am looking at a 2020 Limited and debating putting the TRD Off Road (Limited Edition) package on it. I'm not 100% clear if this package includes a factory lift over a standard limited. The specs say that it includes "trail tuned Bilstein shock absorbers". Does getting this package mean that the truck would have the same suspension as a TRD Pro? Thank you!

Not the suspension as the Pro. Same suspension as the SR5 TRD Off-Road.

No. Different suspension over stock, more for off-road use but not the TRD pro suspension. The Off-road does not provide any sort of lift over stock. One main cost of the pro is the suspension. The Pro is essentially built on the limited platform yet costs a bunch more. For the suspension.

Thanks for the clarification guys. Really appreciate the assistance! Does anyone know how much lift the TRD Pro suspension gives over the standard Limited line?

The TRD Pro suspension levels the truck up front. It does not lift the rear at all.

As others have said, the TRD offroad package does not equal the TRD Pro package. It does however come with a stiffer tune than the regular limited, and replaces the "pavement princess" 20" wheels for 18inchers.

    I believe 1.5 up front.

Do yourself a favor, if you can afford it go ahead and buy a Pro. You won’t regret it.

I love the Pro and I would buy one, but . . . and this is probably going to sound crazy to you guys . . . I really don't like the TRD Pro stamp on the bedside. If it didn't have that stamp I would buy a Pro, but I just don't like the look of the stamp. Silly details that throw monkey wrenches into things.

Fair enough. Buy the truck YOU want and mod it as YOU wish. You’ll end up with a damn fine truck anyway. Just be aware that if you put an aftermarket lift on the truck, some dealerships will not honor the warranty on suspension related problems. You may want to ask your dealership about this before you buy.

Good point. I was reading up on that on this morning. Can the dealer install a TRD Pro suspension on a Limited and keep within the warranty?

I’m sure they can, but that will be quite pricey.

You wouldn't really need to worry about the warranty on the suspension if you are sticking with stock components anyway. To deny a claim they'd have to prove your modification caused the issue, if there ever was one.

There has been more than 1 member on this site that has had a dealership refuse to do warranty work on a radar sensor because the suspension had been modified (lifted). I know the Magnusson act says they have to prove the modification caused the problem, but that’s a pissing contest I personally would not want to get into.

I was thinking of doing a 1.5" leveling like the TRD and putting 17" wheels and 34" tires on it. Would that potentially void the warranty?

Your warranty is not an all or nothing item. It cannot be made void. They could deny claims if they can reasonably show that your modification caused the problem.

What would the out the door cost be to have a dealer install the Fox TRD pro suspension? I would guess about 3-4K but could be way off. I got my 1794 for 6K less than msrp and the pros were marked up about 3-4K over msrp and both trucks have the same starting msrp. I imagine somebody wanting the pro purely for the suspension would be better off buying a platinum or 1794, get the luxury features of that trim and add the suspension and still come in less than the pro. Of course depending on sale price and all. I couldn’t bring myself to pay that much more for the Pro and couldn’t Not buy the 1794 at that price.

Just did a google search and you can buy the pro suspension fo $3200. For some reason, I was thinking it was significantly higher. @smd1973 you should look into this.

I have a Limited with the TRD Off Road package. I removed the factory Billstein 4600's and installed 6112's in the front at top setting and 5160's rear. My front sensor/radar/cruise sensor did not even notice the difference. My truck is level at all 4 corners except for a 1/4" driver side lean and I am the only one who notices it. It was slightly nose high just after install, but settled since.

Just purchased this same set up, about to have it installed with 285/75R18 tires and 18"+25 rims, which i thought should fit with minor rubbing issues based on that one legendary "max tire size" post, but the guy doing it is worried the tires are too big. What tire size are you running?

Stock TRD off-road suspension - without a leveling kit? I don't think that will fit. That's what I'm planning to run *after* I lift or level.

Yes correct, I want to install that tire size or CavBlue's size after the lift/level. Guy I want to do the whole install is worried it wont work even with trimming/body mount chop. :monocle:

Blacked out badges, mirrors and door handles. TRD Pro grill.
Is the Limited with TRD off-road leveled? I believe TRD Pro is leveled by 2" in front.

The Pro suspension is leveled, the TRD OR is not. It's ~2" rake.
