Just installed a set of 2020 TRD BBS PRO wheels on my 2017 truck that I bought from a guy locally. I am getting a TPS light. I asked if the guy if he had them pulled to put on his new wheels and he says he has no idea. What you don't know? Any way is there a way to tell from looking at them from the outside if they are TPS? They are rubber stems which leads me to believe they are not.

Tpms sensors maybe different in the newer models. I think I read on this forum somewhere that Toyota changed the sensor they used

Do you have metal valve stems or rubber? If they are rubber, the TPMS are gone.

You are correct, rubber stems is your exterior clue the PMS sensors are gone.
I run plain old valve stems in my BBS wheels.

Not much help but I know that the sensors in my 19 would not work when I traded and put my old wheels and tires on my 21. They had to break the tires and swap the sensors. Maybe thats common. I don't know much about them.
