    Deboning my buck today, and found this on one of the front quarters. I cut off a big hunk of fat, and this brain looking thing was imbedded in the fat. Fatty tumor? I don’t know, but it looks disgusting, brain like, almost otherworldly. I haven’t watched Alien or The Thing in yeeears, but it’s bringing back memories.

    I think I’ve been on this site too much. Funny how I immediately came here instead of Google. LOL
    After a quick google, it’s a pre scapular lymph node. There ya go. Knowing is half the battle.

    It was quite disturbing when I first saw it. Obviously felt better realizing it was just a venom gland, I mean lymph node. Felt even better seeing one on the other side of the deer.
    Tastes kind of like cookie though, with the consistency of slimy eggs with a slight crunch.
