Just ceck out build thread in sig
Hunting season is right around the corner in Texas. I know there is a gun pics thread, but thats real broad, lets do rifles in here. I recently got into the walk and stalk long range hunting game, shooting off a tripod etc. I used this last season to good effect.

    Ill start...

Nice! Mine’s just a completely stock, plain Jane Savage 111 Trophy Hunter XP .30-06 from Academy. Got it about 4 years ago. Harvested two hogs with it so far using Remington Core-Loks (hope they keep making them). Here’s a manufacturer’s pic for reference:

will have to get mine out and post a pic. Those RPR are a bit heavy for me to be lugging one around in the woods. "Spot and stalk" for me isn't lugging a 12lb rifle and a tripod around...but where I hunt it's pretty rare we'll ever see more than 100-150yds anyway. Too densely wooded and rugged.

Hard to get a good shot - but this is my new hunting rifle.
Seekins Havak PH2 in 7mm RM with a custom VX-6HD 3-18x44 with TMR reticle and MIL turrets. Weighs right at 9lbs, but I can run a bipod on it if I want.
Yes, I rarely see out past 150 yds where I hunt, but I’m ready if I do...
    9525444D-B56C-497A-9A4F-3901B1D933E2.jpg

Those Tikka’s are TACK-DRIVERS. I still need to add one to the stable...I’m leaning toward a T3X Lite in 308 just to have the cross-over capability for smaller and larger game but a little shorter action and barrel than the 7mm.

Shooting the 7mm for the first time tomorrow. Got a Leupold VX-III 4-12 adjustable objective for it. Still trying to find something for the new .30-06.

My dad’s a southpaw. It always made things interesting growing up if he’d hand us his rifle to take a shot at something.
Bet you’re stoked if you’ve been having to deal with using the wrong side for years...

I handed the lefty to my dad to check out. He said it felt weird. My response. Now you know how I felt. Feels natural to me. :rofl:kinda excited to finally own and shoot my own lefty's.

Some nice LH rifles there Sir! Especially the 7RM M70. Those LH SS M70s are pretty rare birds.

    Knob came from Kampfeld customs

    http://www.kampfeldcustom.com/

I can't remember where the handle came from, seems like it was threaded with a big tactical knob. Kampfeld turned it down some and added their knob.

Yeah. They aren’t cheap, but they don’t make them everyday either. ;)

Plus, if you lose your mind down the road ( :p ) and decide to sell it, you’re pretty much guaranteed to get every penny back!

You got a good deal! Mine was about $100 more. Main reason I got .30-06 is because I also have a Garand that shoots .30-06. My Savage is way more accurate than I am. The Garand, not so much, but I admit I’m no sharpshooter.

Yeah it was cheap. Got it at Academy in Katy I think in September. I think it was $329 or thereabouts.
