5.7 sounds great.....but it could sound better. So I was thinking of getting the TRD Exhaust but after a bit of thinking spending $1000+ on it doesn't seem to make much sense when the stock one does the job. So I decided I am OK with spending the money to swap the muffler to get better sound. Anyone have any recommendations? Once the stock pipes rust out ill get TRD but this will be a stop gap.

Appreciate the help to BAMufflers. I've seen that recommended around the forum but that is a full system and I'm looking for a weld in muffler rather then a full system. Just to save some cash.

I have a 5x11x22 magnaflow in my stock pipes. It has just a fuzz more volume than stock, no drone tho. Any louder of a muffler and you will have drone.

i have also tried a spintech 3000xl. Amazing sound, droned pretty bad though

I put the Gibson MWA on. It sounds decent but drones. Put a resonator from DD on and it helped a lot. Just be aware that if you pick the wrong muffler it will drone and cost you extra to buy the resonator

Another vote for Keith @dirtydeeds call him I bet he’ll make you a weld in... he is the best and his systems are legit for the Tundra!

    I have this https://www.magnaflow.com/products/...nterdual-straight-through-performance-muffler

It actually has some rumble on the outside, very quiet inside, just a low hum. If your tailpipe has the factory resonator, then it has almost zero interior hum (ive tried both tailpipes).

overall i like the sound a lot. Ive also had the dirty deeds, which is waaaay cooler, but for a lot more investment.

On a budget? Get a decent Flowmaster knock off. Flowmaster's patent has expired. Get a Flowsound dual 2.25" inlets with single 3" outlet. (a size that Flowmaster doesn't make by the way) Mine is going on Friday. Welded in of course. Should be minimal low end torque loss and it's using the same size inlets and outlet and keeping the single exhaust. I fully expect it to be just fine. I found about the Flowsound on a couple well known Jeep forums with excellent reviews. $30 to $40. If there is drone, which I doubt, it's quite easy and cheap to add a Hemholtz style resonator which would be an additional $15 at my go to place.. No need to spend $600+ for a decent single exhaust and you simply use your current mid pipes and exhaust pipe with minor adaptation. My install cost will be $225. Peanuts....I'll post pics and sound check. I'm pretty good over the years here doing mods on a budget with great results.

I’m running a weld in Magnaflow as well and really like it. Nice throaty low end sound but no real drone in the cab. Sorry, don’t know which one. I had it done at a local muffler shop.

Got a part number or link? I can only find a 3" single in and 2.5" dual out, but the flow would be going the wrong way.

I installed a black widow venom 250 dual 2.5" in, single 3" out with a single tailpipe exiting in front of the rear tire. Exterior volume isn't obnoxious, but sounds very healthy. Interior noise is noticeable on acceleration, but once cruising, the exhaust note almost completely dissipates. The tire noise at 70 mph is louder than the exhaust. Been super happy with this exhaust thus far and can't recommend it enough. There is literally zero drone when cruising, I can't stress that enough.
