Thanks for the heads up. Is the GB40 "more than enough" or borderline? Long-term better to go with GB50 for the 5.7?

I’ve used the GB40 for years. It’s started Tundras, Sequoias, a Tahoe, an F450, an F550, and a forklift multiple times.

Just for the record, these are normally priced around $72 - so I don't know about how "EPIC" this deal is. I bought one a couple of months back for $71.84. Not saying they're not worth it - just don't feel pressured to buy RIGHT NOW if you don't want to.

Looks like you can pick them up near this price a few times a year. The large gets close to this current deal about 2 times in the last year.

Got both the 1 and the five. The 1 was $20.99.....cheaper than a Battery Tender Jr.!

It's an extension for Chrome called CamelCamelCamel. It shows the price history of items on Amazon and allows you to set alerts for when the price drops to your desired range. It's pretty awesome.

The vid comparison didn't seem quit fair. The Nocona GB40 is the smallest unit. How about comparing the GB70 OR 150?

I considered a Noco GB40 awhile ago, but ended up with a Gooloo brand that will jump up to 7L gas or 5.5L diesel because it was on sale for $42. Researched the Noco a lot and looked like it was a quality product, but I went with the cheaper price. As far as the gooloo, I got it 1.5 years ago and haven't charged it since I bought it. I recently pulled it out to jump someone (no that's not meant to be a euphemism). Worked right away, granted it was a subaru forester with smaller engine.

I guess it comes down to how much peace-of-mind you want. If you're in an area that can get freezing cold and you're far from civilization or cell phone service and it would be detrimental if you needed a jump, maybe getting a "higher quality product" like this is more worth it. Otherwise, I feel like products like this are perishable and maybe a lower cost non-brand model would suffice. Overall, I'm happy with my off brand purchase.

This was also posted on slickdeals (great forum btw for awesome deals...prepare to blow some money). Some dude did an extensive review of the Noco vs. a "lesser" brand name.

Dang, missed out on this. Agree that these are overpriced unless you can get one on sale. Would have gone with the GB70.

The video used jump starters that were roughly the same price, the GB70 is 2x more and the GB150 is 3x more. The Audew still outperforms the GB 70 despite costing half as much, there are multiple test videos on Youtube proving this.

True. No doubt the Audew will do more per dollar spent, but the NOCO "looks" like a higher quality product. Could just be slick marketing. I haven't seen either in person.

    Part of me wishes I didn’t watch that video....I bought a GB40 and a GB50.

it’s hard to belief NoCo is as bad as that video makes them seem.

You can’t draw too many conclusions based on that video. The Audew is 2000 amps. The Noco was 1000. All you can say is the Audew is a better deal.
