I have a white sr5 with 33x12.5 mud tires so they stick out quite a bit. Didn’t realize how f***ing annoying that was without mud flares! (In 4 months I’ve spent $200 on car washes, just driving around town!)

Now I’m going to get some cheap flares off Amazon ($200) to hold me over until I have the $1k to buy some proper ones. I kinda hate the look of black mud flares on white truck, so I was thinking of plasti-dipping them myself before my husband puts them on but he says it’ll look like sh!t.

Do any of you have experience with this stuff, or even the cheaper flares? Is it actually going to look that bad?

Also, we are in northern BC, (Canada)does this stuff stand up to extreme cold?

    Pics would be appreciated!

Seriously? A huge no way. You don't PlastiDip mud flaps or fender flares. I love Cheezies by the way.....

Don’t have to be rude. Would it flake off?

Welcome from Colorado by the way. I traveled up your way a few years ago on my way up to AK. I'm in love with BC. Beautiful part of CAN.

Yes. The constant barrage of dirt rocks and water would pulverize it almost immediately.

Cheezies were invented by Satan My husband gave kids some in my brand new truck...cheezie fingerprints eeeeeverywherereeee haha. Ok so is there a way other than plasti-dipping that would change the colour but hold up?

Naomi, you fortunately have a lot of fellow forum members here from your neck of the woods that will chime in and castigate me...ha!

Likely any treatment would wear off quickly. Paint, plastidip, etc. Can’t imagine any color coated material would stand up to the beating.

Edit: Maybe you could find somebody to coat it with that clear bra stuff? Paint it then apply? Still wouldn’t hold up long term but maybe short term? I wouldn’t do it but that’s me. And I like the black on white look on my Tundra. But again, that’s what’s nice. Variety.

I know for sure there’s something they do at the body shops here to colour match it to your vehicle. It just costs an arm and a leg! Maybe they rock guard them

I guess the only thing that I can think that may work is Raptor Lining. Basically bed liner and you can color it whatever you want. That may work and wouldn’t be too pricey. My line x shop does colors and for something that small would likely be pretty cheap.

I’m in northern Canada... nothing is ever cheap here hahaha. To order and get them custom painted it’s close to $1,000 here :(

    Welcome from NY.

I think the only thing that would hold up would be a material like bed liner which I'm sure you can get in white. If not black bed liner then spray it your color code.

Good luck and post up some pictures.
