There you have it and wonder no more! It works on Makoy339’s ‘14 and BamaMan44’s ‘17. Therefore, it should not “skip” your ‘16. However, the difference is whether it will be a direct Plug And Play vs Plug And Play after two wires are added. Which is simple enough to do reading the above recent posts.

It is actually a Camry part.
You can find them on eBay fairly cheap, $35 to $50..

 

Is this part # still good for 2020’s? Website says no but just wanted to verify before ordering.

 

Yes, though most 2020 models have the smart key now.

I got 89782-0E010 for my 2020 Tundra SR5, from a Toyota dealer, knowing I would need to run two wires for the LED power. I hooked it up anyway to check fit and it fits fine. The problem is, my truck won't start with this one connected. It just turns over.. Plugged the original back in, truck started right up.

 

@fbingha any updates on if you got it straight?

 

How hard would it be to swap the led out of it? Put mine in and it works just seems to be a duller white than most here have, and I have a 2017 sr5 and used the part number that ended in 20 for it

 

Is it still dull in the dark? Mine seemed the same way but when I checked it that night it was way brighter.

 

Mine doesn't seem to be any different..

 

I'll take a photo of it tonight, it is a different color than the led bulbs, looks like the color of the stock bulbs that were in before, truck started fine and everything with it though no issues like that

 

Had this option in my 04 and miss it in my 13. Will be doing this mod soon

 

Be sure to search eBay for the part.
I got mine for like $35 a few years ago.
There are a few on there now for $35 - $40..

Its really tough to show up in pictures, can see it in person but in photos not so much

 

Did it. yahoooooo. A lot harder than most experienced. Took me a long time to find those two screws hidden under my steering wheel Lol . Then figuring out how to snap plastic apart. But it's done on my 19 limited. It lights , now to see it tonight

 

I was able to use the camry part in my '15. Here are pics of the parts and my harness in case it's useful to anyone considering this job.

Edit: I agree with Crizzle above, the 07-11 Camry part I had to use is not nearly as bright as the newer part numbers.

Jealous of you all with your 2.5s...but has anyone found any compatible parts for the 2nd gen (2007-13) trucks? I guess if it comes down to worst-case scenario I could bite the bullet and order the one listed out several times...but that $112+ buys a lot of other things too. I'm fine with either PnP or needing to wire it in. I might pull my column cover in the next few days to see what I'm potentially in for.

 

Is the duration setting for the lights these are tied in to need Techstream? Seems like a lot of times it turns off before I get to putting my key in if I'm setting stuff down, putting phone in mount etc. I saw a dome light setting in the display but I think that's just for when you put it park?

 

I believe it would be tied into the dome lights, which should come in any time the door is opened.

 

Ok thanks, I'll pay attention to it next time and see if they go on/off at the same time.

Looks like the eBay sellers caught on to us.
They run over $100, for that you might as well buy a new one.
I bought mine on eBay for $40 with free shipping 2 years ago..

I honestly forgot about it. Too many other things going on lately. Doing the brakes and suspension this Friday, just bought a boat...all sorts of fun stuff lol

 

Anyone know if 89782-0E010 is still a good part number for a 2019 SR5? At Sparks Parts if comes up as the right part, but through dealership parts sites, it says it’s a “coil, transponder key”. Trying to avoid paying $20 shipping with Sparks if I can get free shipping with more parts from dealers.
