I couldn't count how many Glocks and Sigs I've had over the years. Then I bought an HK VP9. You'll never look at anything else again.

Having said that, I use a S&W M&P Shield as my truck gun due to it's size. Also, if it were to get stolen it's not too expensive to replace.

Maybe you should look into a lock box for your truck. 35.00 vs 400.00 and a stolen gun on the streets. Just an observation.

Just this week we had some local kids robbing in a neighborhood in my city. It was amazing how many weapons they had due to vehicle thefts.

Definitely a good idea. I don't leave it in there overnight tho, I have a permit and usually keep it with me.

I do love my VP9, but I prefer to carry a P238 and keep the HK plus an extra mag in the truck.

This and you need a CZ too. My SP01 compact shoots better than my glocks and sigs.

To the OP, I wouldn't Buy ANYTHING without shooting it first. Sig and Glock both make great firearms but that doesn't mean you can shoot it. I've had a couple glocks and will probably never own another. Can't hit squat with them. Every gun fits people differently. My carry is a shield .9mm and there isn't a pistol on the market that I'd trade it for. Not because it's the best out there. Far from it.. . But because I can shoot the hell out of it. A Trigger swap did that gun a ton of justice. With all that said, I put a few rounds through my brothers VP9 and that is a sweet shooting gun! But again, may not fit you. Find a couple buddies that have some you're interested in and try them out. Where I'm at, there's a range that will rent pistols for you to try. Not sure if there's anything like that where you are but thats a good option for trying out before you buy. My .02. . .

Glocks are like Toyota Camry’s it ain’t nothing special but always works. There are many other manufacturers that are excellent but the Glock always gets the job done well. They are one of the simplest semi auto pistols to maintain and clean. I enjoy the Springfield XDMs and the HK VP9 is awesome but 300 more than a Glock.

You can’t go wrong with a Glock just realize they have less bells and whistles. It’s a tool and makes qualms about it.

Find a pistol that fits your hand, one that is comfortable for you to shoot, manipulate and clean. For me that pistol is a full size Glock... I own a box of used Glock pistols, they all work as advertised and I see no reason to spend money on any fancy expensive pistol that does the same job as my old Glock pistols.

    Go with what feels best.

Once you hold a Sig the Glock will feel like you’re holding a block.

P320 - versatile best feeling grip
P365 - best pocket EDC that holds 10 rounds

    P226 - Perfect - good luck.

^Agree with this 1000%. It’s all personal preference and I have both - a Sig P226 and a Glock 21. To me the Sig just fits my hand and shooting style like a glove. The Glock feels like I’m holding a brick, it shoots OK - just not very smooth. I have several different brands, calibers and styles of handguns and my Sig is my favorite hands down and the most accurate too.

I keep my Glock as my night stand gun.

(Ironically my most accurate hand gun was a Springfield XDM-40 when they first hit the market and my dumbass sold it - really don’t know what I was thinking!)

Hold both if you can and shot both if you can. Find a range that rents handguns or ask friends who shoots.

Having owned sigs, I prefer the glocks over sigs.

Both are good platforms, but the glocks for me, shoot better.

Classic Coke or Pepsi post... You are gonna find staunch supporters of both as well as a few people telling you that RC Cola is best.

Like a few others said, get you hands on a few before making a decision. Heck, if you have friends who shoot see if you can try both.

Personally, I've got big hands and have converted to shooting handguns left-handed. I went in twice looking to buy a Glock (9mm and 45). I left the first time with a Sig 226 and the second time with an HK45. I didn't care for how the Glock fit my hands nor did I care for the slide release whe. Using left-handed. Good luck

Late to the party. Work at a gun range. Both break I have a P229E and two G17s out for repair. I carry a P220 West German Sig. It's 33 years old with an estimated 35k-40K rounds through it. It's going to Sig for a polish job, complete respring, SRT, and NS. It's been a solid pistol. Seems to soak up recoil and shoot more comfortably than the 17 or 34. I shoot pistols daily and have learned to modify for the differences. In short, the choice is relative. Just do yourself a favor and keep it stock. If it doesn't have what you want, consider another firearm.

I bought my first handgun a few years ago. Mainly to be a nightstand/home defense gun and camping/backpacking sidearm.
    I was dead-set on a Springfield MC Operator 1911 in .45 cal.
I have an uncle who is a Sheriff and an uncle who is an FFL dealer here in California. After talking with both of them about my wants out of my firearm they both told me to buy a Glock. Lots of good reasons but mainly for reliability.
Settled on a Glock 17 9mm. Took it to the range and I was blown away by the shootability and accuracy of the gun.
Added a $30 Amazon gun light and a Sentrysafe fingerprint nightstand safe.
    Very happy with my decision!
