I’ll be removing my bed soon (if the bolts allow me). Felt some light moistness around the back of the back seat just under that area of the ‘Exhausters’. I’ll remove bed and caulk those Exhausters, clean back of cab first, and grease the hard to reach areas of the frame from the topside.

I’ll be heating and oiling the 6 bolts in prep. Put a couple Rat a Tat Tats on them and see what they want to do before committing. I’ve been using the Back and Forth Twist Method on Sketchy Bolts with great success.

Any thing else I should do?

When the remote start alarm was installed the other week, the front of the headliner was dropped down to route the antenna wiring. Of course during this process a $3 clip broke that holds the map light/garage door opener storage. No local stealerships stock it either.

Clip came in today. Since it was out, it was also a good time to remove those metal shields from the map lights.

I have a dealer Loyalty toyota 10 miles from me. They will not let you pickup. Because they still want to charge retail for walk in customers and parts needed by their service dept.
Online prices much cheaper but they said have to ship. I dont use them much. But did recently for some coil springs and they were the only one that said they could actually get them. Seems there was only 1 left in the country for one side.
Anyway ordered last Thursday. No email or receipt. Cant sign in and make a account like other dealerships I use. Called this morning since had not heard anything. Said they just came in this morning. And where shipping them to me.
Well 20 minutes later they were in an open box on my doorstep. I guess they figure they where to heavy or to hard to package. And just had someone drive 10 minutes to my house. Never did get a receipt but I am happy.

For what its worth I usually deal with with Concelli or Mcgeorge toyotas. Great service from both and just a little cheaper than Loyalty.

I still have a quart in my shop. I just cant bring myself to use it for anything. After I bought I also seen the same stories. Seems brittle and cant flex any. So cracks and rust grows underneath. Reminds me to much like what rubberized undercoating does.

I guess that could happen on the frame, but where It, which is on the rear diff cover, wont be flexing and shouldnt crack as this stuff is as hard as a rock,, also tomorrow im going to coat the top of it with marine grese to keep moisture and small rocks out in the first place

They sell it on the "big A" website. Search there for this string: B08GJ598Q7

You my not find Tundra in the title of the item, but every steering wheel mentioned is the same Toyota p/n as ours for 1st gen Tundra.

Got a parts list/build write up? What exactly does it do? Does it slow the opening and/or aid in closing?

Yes on my build page 3. Slows the gate from slamming down. Does not aid in closing. There is a torsion spring out there that someone installed which does both. Probably would have done that one if I had known about it prior, but happy with this set up.
