IIRC, @TILLY was looking to achieve a constant foot well ‘ON’ instead of it fading out like what happens when one opens the doors or uses the fob to lock and unlock the doors.

Perhaps I was not clear. All of my lights: puddles, foot wells, cargo, and bed lights all behave with the 7-30 second preset time fade out with any of the above actions (door/lock/unlock). With the exception of the foot wells, I am able (not unique to me) to still manually use the cargo light switch to also turn on the puddles, cargo, and bed lights. I was relaying that to achieve an always on foot wells (while driving), a separate switch (possibly w/relay)would be required OR directly tapped to the illumination circuit where a switch already exists to effortlessly perform the desired end result that I understood @TILLY was seeking, suggesting as he was not wanting to wire in a separate switch to make this happen.

Thus why I inquired of why hooking them up to the cargo or some circuit. As was relayed prior, by @Tundra234, he confirms this circuit usable but with a separate switch. Without said switch then all of the outside lights come on to “just cruise around with constant foot wells on”, which, call me silly, to do that seems ridiculous.

Again, I wired these lights in the door handle recesses because I wanted both blue and white foot well lights but liked how the fading on and off worked. I didn’t want to use two different sets for the colors so I opted for this route.

I can turn the blue lights on with the parking/dash lights AND dim them if they are TOO obnoxious. This was simply the best alternate to fit the “no additional switch/wiring” to achieve constant accent lighting albeit via the door handles or the foot wells...

    Cheers Hermanos!

I like how you wired your lights up. Only reason I’d consider (and most likely will) wire my footwell lights into the cargo circuit is so that when it’s 11:30 at night and I’m looking for this, that, or the other thing under the seats, I don’t have to keep hitting the unlock button on the key fob every thirty seconds. Flip the cargo and the floors will be lit up until you find what you’re looking for. Maybe it doesn’t happen to you too often, but it seems to happen to me, especially when it’s butt cold outside.

    Lots of shenanigans.
Gave babygirl a wash and detailed her. Not the best pic to show off how shiny she is but it was the end of the day and I was ready for a beer!

I hate having to cut and splice a perfectly good plug+play cable setup, but i think using the cargo light switch may be the best option for what i want. Great people here with great advice, and i really appreciate all of it. Will let you know how it all turns out.

That’s the “upgraded” camera from the kit from Anytime. I’ll take some footage this evening. A small part of the bumper is visible the way I have it mounted (flat), but I’m betting I could get rid of that with the little wedge shims that were included in the camera box. It wasn’t bothersome enough to worry with it driving around yesterday.

That is why you are the sage!

This didn’t even occur to me until late last night and I didn’t want to “offer another” suggestion and beat the horse. After all, this offers the best of the both worlds and is how the puddles are wired on the cargo circuit (trigger) on my rig (duh!) So I may just have to do this too...

    ¡gracias hermano!

Paid off my Tundra this morning. Had $6500 left and decided I wanted the title in my possession. The only reason I financed 8k was I got $2000 back for financing through Toyota. The finance manager was pretty bummed when I went to sign. No extended warranties, wheel insurance or any other crap he was trying to push through.

Yes I want to mount it to where i can catch a little of the front bumper. I want to get the same kit for my 1794 and plan on installing the camera button where the headlight level switch is located.

How was the bedstep install? I hear it can be a pain. Is it the OEM one?

Yes it is the oem. It was definitely a pain in the butt to change the bracket but doable. Took about 45mins for me to install it.

Changed the oil. While I had it in the garage, I cleaned all the bugs off the front using the bounce dryer sheet method. Also applied Cerakote (that’s been sitting on my workbench for months) to the door handles and side mirrors. I’ll get around to doing more of the black plastics this week hopefully.

After 8+ weeks of waiting, my Leer 700 finally arrived! Had it installed yesterday, need to figure out a bed lighting system now... I can certainly feel the extra weight in the rear of the truck now but it actually rides better and, I think, looks much better too. Not many/any set up like this around me, I prefer to keep my vehicles unique to me. I probably need to peel the chrome LEER letters off as they are on both sides of the cover, up front, near the Limited lettering on the rear doors...looks kinda busy and I'm one who doesn't mind the chrome... Pics to come.
