I removed my fender flares and paint protection film to apply my ceramic coating, in my latest video I show how well the film worked to protect the paint!

Why would you have expected issues under the PPF? You used Dawn to wash it all the time?

Because just about every talk forum I’m in I’ve heard countless people say that flares will ruin your paint even with film… LOL… This is the first time I’ve ever had flares on a truck, needless to say it was a pleasant surprise… And yes sir, I would use dawn to wash it and then coat it with shine armor fortify… loved the results, but definitely glad I ceramic coated it now

What did you coat it with? Why did you remove the film and not just coat over it? Are you putting the flairs back on? I’ve coated ppf many times just wondering.

Not sure the flares are goin back on, I’ve been on the fence about it so figured it would be better to coat under them to be sure... plus I had some viewers who wanted to see the results of the PPF anyway...glad I did, I think they will be staying off… I just like the look of the truck better without them on… I used Dura coating diamond ceramic

Gotcha that makes sense. No experience with that coating. What soap are you going to use now?

Switching to this stuff called “Ceramic Wash”...it’s made by the same company, used it a couple days ago in my foam cannon, so far pretty impressive!...it’s one of them that’s specifically made for ceramic coated vehicles to prolong the life of the coating...so they say...haha

I would guess it’s better then dawn. The only soap I use is reset which is awesome but not in a cannon. Ok with me I bought one it’s still in the box lol.

Hahaha... yeah I’m not going to lie, I just started using a foam cannon myself… This coating came out awesome, I’m thrilled with the results… Water/dirt just bead up into big balls and fall off truck...and the paint looks super smooth and almost thick, hard to explain...I’m going to be posting a video of the coating on my channel as well

I've actually had pretty decent success with Reset in a foam cannon.....but then again, using the SunJoe, my expectations are pretty low with regards to foam

Cool. I’m gonna try it. I have a sunjoe as well. I just heard it’s not as good as honeydew so I never went there.

That’s actually what I have as well, Sun Joe SPX2598, nothing special...but that ceramic wash worked pretty good in the foam cannon ($18 cannon I got off Amazon)
