This area is rich in wildlife, big herds of elk in many different areas and since the forest fire of 2013 we've had a herd that shows up frequently on our neighbors field and sometimes down under our apple trees. The neighbor on our east side has game camera pics of a 12 point Royal elk that generally stays up above the trees. There are three youngsters traveling with the herd this year.DSC00009.jpg DSC00008.jpg DSC00005 (1).jpg

Love this. I'm south of you down in California in Humboldt Co. We have a large herd of Roosevelt Elk that spends a lot of time at the ranch just a 1/2 mile from my place. Great stuff!Elk in Christie's Field-3.jpg

You want to outfit a hunt? What do you need to get a license for elk there?

I live in the middle of the South Pacific. We don’t hunt back home since we live on a tiny island. We don’t have elks here. Thanks.

Travel 101 fairly often between Eureka and Winchester Bay. Love every bit of it, some of the nicest country in the world !
