Just learned that the key fob will start my truck. Not sure if anyone else knows. Push unlock once and then push lock 3 times hold down the third one until you see the lights blink. No paying for it through the Toyota app. It does turn off when you open the door. Great for cold mornings.

You don't even need to push Unlock, you can just hit lock three times and it does it.

I believe it’s for limited and up trims. As of 2020 pros are built off a limited platform vs the sr5 of previous years

Your truck has to have the "option" of remote start.....

Just tried it on mine....and it works! I don't see any mention of remote start in my Tundra manual, but maybe I missed it somewhere.

2021 TRD Pro and I'm having no luck with mine. Blizzard in the Canadian prairies too. Remote start works with the phone app. Should work with my FOB then no??

My 2021 works fine with both fob and app.

the the OP listed: press lock quickly twice then hold the lock button down on the third. Should fire up a few seconds later.

One thing I have noticed is you have to be pretty close to the vehicle for the fob to work. Obviously if the truck will lock, you are likely close enough, but I find the range to be disappointing. That would be the first step I would take, make sure you are close to the vehicle then try again.

I found out what I was doing wrong. As stated you have to press the lock button twice “quickly” then hold

I’m happy to be on this board. New tundra owner feels real good. I drove a 2005 Tacoma until now.

    cheers
