I replaced my 2016 lights with Morimoto XBs. They were about an A- Aerospace 303 has served me well. Truck has 50k and is garaged.

Thanks - there was some confusion with our local dealership - they discontinued the black side-step due to issues with rusting and thought I was looking for that one. I was looking at the running board (which is black aluminum), but have also been looking at the Aries Ascent. Truck is coming in next week.

Is it done with a drill or all hand sanding the lens?

The sanding part is done by hand. Step one with 1000 grit and step 2 with 3000 grit. The polish or PlasticX step uses the drill. Pretty easy overall.

I had more than a dozen quotes that were all minimum $5k over sticker (and a couple that wanted $15k over). A couple even emailed me back w/in an hour or two of giving me a quote saying that the truck had since sold. I got "lucky" - managed to pay sticker out the door with no add-ons (I'll put what I want on it myself and get much better pricing). And they gave me a more-than-fair offer on my 2008 trade-in with almost 300k miles on it. They claimed that part of it was because I was actually a buyer from in-state, when most of the calls they were getting were from out of state.

In all honestly, this has probably been the least stressful and most pleasant purchase experiences I've ever had. Batted back and forth a few times with the sales guy over email, got settled on the final quote, and drove up the next morning (about 100 mile drive) to take care of paperwork and bargain on the trade-in. Was out the door in under 1.5 hours. Then sat and waited another 4 days for it to actually arrive. It still had the white shrink-wrap on it when I showed up yesterday to pick it up...so it took about 45 minutes yesterday for them to TDI, wash it, fill up the tank, and give me the keys.

Installed TRD rear sway bar. Took me about 45 minutes, nothing too annoying. 3 foot breaker bar loosened the tow hitch bolts, 22mm and 19mm sockets and torque wrench. Instructions were very well written and easy to follow. Took it around the block to make sure nothing is rubbing. Will check the torque on the bolts in a few weeks. I won't know how well it works until I take some twisties on another day.

The shop called and I finally got my wheels back from being powder coated.

The first color was way off from what I asked for. The second time around there was an issue with the clearcoat.

This isn't exactly what I had envisioned but I'm happy with how they turned out.

Instant throttle responds, no lag. Slightly stepping on the pedal feels like you stomped the pedal to the floor. I havent been able to test out all the moods. I still have to try out sport and sport plus which I hear is crazy throttle response!

Running a tank of E85 to clean things out a bit. Either I'm imagining things or it really put a little pep in its step. I see in live time on the ultragauge it's running a bit more timing advance than normal.

Are the OEM 18" alloy rims the same width as the 18" steelies? I'd like to replace the 255/70 tires with 275/65 next time if they're compatible. The skinnies are a good ride and are inexpensive but smoke more than the ethanol if pushed.

I like the SX model, but it doesn't come with the rear sliding window that you normally see in a DC and it doesn't have the dual climate control. otherwise it has everything i wanted. I had to go with the TRD Sport DC, just to get those options as I stated above and unfortunately i payed alot more just to get those options. The biggest thing i love about the SX is that there is no Chrome. My Sport doesn't either, but like i said i had to pay more $$$$$$ for it. Really nice looking Truck though, LOVE the Black with no chrome. Really sharp looking.

    Thanks for the feedback.
The wife likes the SX, I don’t hate it, but I love the truck blacked out.
I have my plastic razor blade and heat gun ready. Will pull the trigger tomorrow morning...or not.

That's probably right cuz E85 is something like 100-105 octane.

Those VLED'S look great, just ordered the same kit. Its annoying that the foot-well lights time out after 15 seconds and you can't keep them on manually. Need to figure out a way around this conundrum.:monocle:

Are they on the same circuit as the illuminated ignition ring? Was happy to get that installed, then found most the time when I get in my truck when it's dark that thing goes out before I even get to searching to put the key in.
