Still trying to get used to the look of my pizza cutters. 275/75r17 Toyo AT3’s. Definitely quieter than my Duratracs that I had on my Rebel. Really curious how they’ll do in the hard pack snow.

I know the pizza cutters are better function over form, but 35x12.5’s look just right.

    Agree.
I tried 17” for a month and a half and it just didn’t do it for me.
The truck looked good but it wasn’t my thing....happy again with the 285s!

So I have 275/70/18 Kenda Klever RT tires and they're awesome. Not quite 2000 miles on them yet but so far so good, zero complaints. Like many people who have these tires, the looks and price are what drew me in. They were wayyy under budget at $185 a tire. However I'm still wanting a bigger tire since I have a 3"/2" lift on the truck and theres room for it. The only problem is that I'm afraid 285/75/18s won't let me fit in the garage. The 2020 has the shark fin antenna and cuts my height limits down a few inches. Anyone else have this problem or do you all park outside?

Skinny aggressive tires work the best in the snow on asphalt. True story:hattip:

It looks like I have 2" to spare until the shark fin hits the actual garage door. I'm good on clearing the house frame but the bottom of the garage door hangs a little under that. According to the tire calculator I should be fine. Just not sure about concrete heave as the house settles. I will probably make the jump in size after these tires wear out.

275/70 18s on stock suspension. So much better than the crap tires that came on the truck.

Do you only have a leveling kit in front with coach builder bumper shims? I'm looking at getting the same size tires but just trying to get some more info before I pull any triggers on anything.
By the way truck looks great with those tires, how happy have you been with the duratracs?

We had about 10" of snow a few days ago. The 255 /75/17 Cooper Discoverer ATS 4s did very well in the snow. In 4wd, very easy to get around and even in 2wd was a lot more manageable than other trucks that I have owned.
Had to take a trip to Glenwood Springs for a medical appointment, and the canyon was greasy had to run 4wd for about 2 miles but no issues. Still managed 18mpg at 80-85mph, not ever going to complain about that.
Since I will be keeping this Tundra for awhile, I am sure that I will go to the dark side and go with a lift and tire size upgrade at some point.

In addition to the leveling kit and bumper shims, I also took a heat gun to the front mud flap behind the tire and flattened it and I had to trim the sides of the skid plate.

Thank you, so far I really like them but I’ve only put about a hundred miles on them.
I had Duratracs on my FJ and put a lot of miles on them. They wore evenly and did well on and off the road.

Sorry if it's obvious, but are you running the Duratracs on the OEM steelies?

Cool, all pretty minimal for some monster tires on a leveled truck. I ordered my bumper shims this morning. I’m debating between just the bigger tires on my leveled truck or dropping the level kit and putting 6112 at 2.5 up front and 5160 in the rear with aal. Do you have any pics directly from the side with your tires straight?

This is the only other picture I have.
Tires are flush with the body if that’s why you’re asking for a side picture.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but it seems if you changed wheel size, the MPG would not be accurate unless you recalibrated the speedo/odo.

IN my opinion 255's and narrower are pizza cutters (10 inches). I think they are awesome! Ford 3/4 and one tons in the 90's came with 235.85 's I always liked that size for performance in snow and mild off-road.

They are within .6% diameter of the OEM 20's, Gas mileage is accurate. Speedometer reading 80.5mph and actual would be 80mph. Well within acceptable tolerances for speedometer accuracy.

Stop telling others our secrets. They will jump on our bandwagon.

Pizza cutters suck. Don’t do it. Pizza cutters are lame. You will hate them. And people will hate you.
