Has anyone stopped hauling around bulky jumper cables in favor of a smaller battery pack designed for jumping vehicles?

I'm considering a brand called NOCO. Good reviews and many options, including one model that says it can be used to jump gas engines up to 8 L.

I just bought an Audew unit featured in the video above, about $100 less than the NOCO.

I bought something similar to Noco from Costco and used it a bunch on my first gen since it sat all the time. They're awesome, just have to check the charge every so often.

I have both but the pack is much safer for the ECU and you. Pack would be my go to.

    Alot of them
They work well. Don't store it inside a vehicle in extremely hot climates. There has been a couple of cases of the battery swelling and leaking.

I have a GOOLOO. I usually take it will me on the adventure bike too. I'll bet that if I get rid of my jumper cables in the truck, I'd then have a great spot to mount my power inverter...:monocle:

Appreciate all the replies. 2000 amp NOCO for $199 worth the extra $100, or should the 1000 amp NOCO for $99 do the job?

I carry one of the Microstart XP units, and have for several years. The early model I had failed and was replaced 2 years later without question by Microstart. I dont carry cables anymore, but have considered doing so.

W the Microstart, I've started large diesel RVs w it, motos, and numerous vehicles; small piece of mind when out in the sticks before I had a second battery installed.

Thats what I keep in all my vehicles, much safer than jumper cables and I don't have to count on anyone else :)

Jumper cables don't work unless there's another running vehicle around that wants to help. I don't like to rely on others for help and I will never jump some else's vehicle from mine. If someone needs help I'll gladly jump them with my jump pack.

I don't see why everyone doesn't always have a fully charged jump pack in all their vehicles.

This is why I bought mine. I carry cables and the battery pack which doesn’t require another vehicle.

I bought the TACKLIFE jump starter off Amazon. I carry cables and jump starters in both vehicles. Funny, you can charge the jump starter from the car and start the car with that jump starter!

Both. Jump starter is first choice, but cables are there too if helping someone else. I've used the starter twice, first time no problem. Second time fullly charged, didn't work. Also tried the cables with my truck and the neighbor's car. Still no go. Apparently a really dead battery won't take assistance. And I've been told that you can't take the battery out like you could a few decades ago.

I carry both. Had to employ the cables the other day when the guy I was helping hopped in and grabbed his breathalyzer......... couldn’t leave the battery pack hooked up long enough for his extended startup procedure SMH!

Amazon has done Noco deals for Black Friday deals the last few years. I have bought them for myself and as gifts. Significant discounts. Maybe they will do it again.
