I posted on that thread, hence why you probably thought of me.

If it sometimes blows smoke on start up it's the valve stem seals. My 01 started to blow blue smoke on startup for about 1 month and then stopped all the sudden and hasnt done it since.

Valve stem seals are the only thing I’ve ever seen cause oil burning in a 4.7. And it’s only on. Neglected ones or super high mileage.

there’s tricks to replace them without pulling the heads. But I’ve never tried

I'm not @empty_lord, but based on the color of the wires it looks like a ground harness.

You penny pinchers crack me up. When it comes to stopping, traction, or visibility that can potentially avoid an accident I’m all about overkill and not saving a few bucks.

also, I offset your savings and spent $50 on a set of Bosch Icons for the wife’s Sienna today

I offset his savings too. I purchased a set of Icons for my Ferd a couple of weeks ago.

Ye. I just put on the $50 Bosch Icons on two vehicles. They are very nice. Its a rip off though because there is no option for refills like most all the other brands.

I look forward to when I buy these Densos Designer Blades and then saving money the following time with the refills. It used to be that was how you changed new blades by swapping refills for a few bucks and some time.

By the way, those Bosch are made in Chyna just like the cheap refills. Probably in the same plant. Not sure about Denso, but assume Taiwan.

Costco is my go-to for wiper blades...

These work well and they go on sale for $5.99 about 3-4 times a year, so I pick up a pair for both cars about once every 6 months...

    https://www.costco.com/michelin-guardian-hybrid-wiper-blade.product.100454345.html

They seem to stock either the Michellins or the Goodyears below at the same price and they both work equally well.

Enter Promo Code ‘Hand Model’ for the Designer Series. These have swappable refills option.

Man, I wouldn't mind having that cap. But not about to try to nego getting it diagonally cross-country. :D

Not sure if this helps, but if it's for non-NAPA brand parts, I recently learned AdvanceAutoParts.com has a coupon code RMN25 to get 25% off all day long. supposedly it's a persistent coupon and it works for buy-online-pickup-in-store.

Its next to the battery. There are two clips that look alike. Iirc its the one farthest up front. You’ll figure it out. Need to remove battery to get hands on.
