Second cover came in yesterday so did some grinding to the mounting tabs this morning and got them on. I like the look and will test out how they look/work when it gets dark.

Nice, do you have any pics of the covers before you put them on? Just curious about what it looked like after the grinding

Sorry didn't take any pics until they were mounted.

Most of the grinding was on the outside edge of the mounting tabs and I just kinda kept grinding then test fitting. Thread #6 has a photo from someone else that is what I did but due to these being the aftermarket Rigids on a homemade mount in Pro bezels I had to grind a bit more to get them in there.

Much to my surprise, I got both of mine today. They went on fairly easily without any grinding or sanding. I love the light it puts out. Thank you for bringing these to my attention.

IMPHO...If you want to run amber, sell what you have and buy the selective yellow.

The new selective yellow is much more effective (visually) AND the Rigid covers have been independently tested to reduce output by 50%.

    Just something to mole over.

I thought about that and if I decide that amber/yellow is going to be permanent I might just get the selective yellow ones. I do like that these also protect the lens and not sure how bright the TRD Pro Rigids are but the SAE's are stupid bright so cutting them down a bit isn't a bad thing for street use. Haven't had a chance to try them in fog but we're supposed to get snow Friday so maybe i'll get a chance to mess around with them in some actual inclement weather.

in the lengthy first post, Rigid output cut:
"While the amber covers do a great job completely eliminating the short wave length blue light spectrum spike, they also significantly reduce the effective output. I believe Rigid claims a 15% loss, I measured a 50% loss in a controlled indoor environment with a NIST certified digital spectrometer.

    Rigid lux at 18': 395.5
Rigid lux at 18' w/ amber covers: 195.2, ~50% loss in output"

post 257 gives a great run down on the selective yellows

Not sure what your OE wiring is but there is an adapter for previous years to wire in a Rigid to the OE harness retaining the OE stalk/fog functionaility.

Cool thanks, I've been researching this and almost just bought some lamin-x film. I wasn't sure if these would fit or not, so thanks for the info.

Zero issue here. No trimming, snapped on within a second.

Pop one side on but don't sink it in all the way, just make sure it's barely past the black trim. Put other side on and push like hell on that side. Took me about 5 seconds per light.

Finally got it. I used a serrated knife to cut the flairs a bit and now it fits perfectly.

I put these on last night.

tight fit but with some finesse and a flat tip I got them to snap in.

nice! I probably could have gotten them on without grinding the flares down a bit if I used a flat head but I wasn’t thinking right lol
