    I would love to know where you heard that because everything i seen is the opposite. vehicle shuts off when you press the unlock button on the new Toyotas. For what i researched, there is no way around it.

    STRAIGHT OFF THEIR WEBSITE:

    Operation of System
    • To Start: Press lock 3 times on the OEM key FOB
    • To Stop: Press lock 3 times on the OEM Key FOB
    • Parking Lights will illuminate during remote start mode
    • Run time is 15 minutes
    • All doors, hood and hatch/trunk must be closed
    • The vehicle will shut off when the door is opened. You simply can get in, restart the vehicle and go.

    Cool well the OP and myself have a 2016, which uses a key, “bruh”. So that’s what works for our trucks. Jesus relax.. haha

    Not true!
    I have one and can confirm that if you remote start with it, open the door, put key in ignition and turn it, then it won’t turn off. If you put your foot on the brake before putting the key in the ignition, THEN it will turn off.

    I remote start mine with this system, unlock the door, put the key in and it doesn't turn off..... ask those that have this system installed. I'd buy this kit all over again, even if it cost more. Great kit

    With Push button/keyless start. The vehicle will shut off when the door is opened. No way around it yet. I'm sure some egghead is trying to crack that as I write this.

    It's been a while but I remember I had to cut the TPMS wire and connect both ends to the remote start unit.

    That was the only cutting of factory wires. I do believe they sell an extra harness if you don't want to do that.

    Hey, quick question (well 2 of them) and hopefully a quick answer. I have the factory remote start (hate it) was installed new in my '16. Is it easy to remove that one and replace with James' version? Anybody done this? Thanks in advance!

    I haven't personally done this but I remember someone else doing this, the same time I was installing mine. I do remember whoever it was didn't have any issues. Maybe they'll chime in here shortly.

    I'm not here for technical advice. Just to point out that it still moves a little when I leave the store and use James' remote start and I can hear Keith's exhaust rumble from the middle of the parking lot.
