My daughter moved to Philly 2 years ago. She took her 2015 Altima with her but she uses public transportation most of the time. Her car sits on the street for long periods. Long story short, she stopped home today so I could detail her car.

The hood, roof and trunk lid all felt like sandpaper before I washed it. Still rough after the Iron X too. Clay bar is next.

    OOOOOOH the colors!

Wow. That’s a lot of gunk on the paint.

Yeah. Shame on her. It appears that apple fell far from the tree. She grew up watching me wash our cars pretty much every weekend. That car has probably not been washed in over 6 months. I think I actually heard the car give off a sigh of relief when I was spraying it with the Iron X.

Here is the clay bar after doing the first section of the hood. Used an abundant amount of Mothers Instant Detailer for lube. After the initial wash but prior to the Iron X, the paint surface felt like 50 grit sandpaper. After the Iron X, it was 100 grit. Aftet the first pass with clay, probably like a 220. Did a second pass with clay and it is ready for the next step. Will be doing hood, roof and trunk lid twice with clay.
