I was hoping that you'd be looking for that beige colored wire and measuring the voltage on it. Why are you worried about a blank position? Not all of them are going to be filled, that depends on how your truck is equipped. That could be for something as random as heated seats. :)

To give you an idea how different our trucks can be, I did happen to find a picture of that area of my truck from when I was doing a modification writeup.

That's connector AJ4 on my truck, the one that you have out looks like it might be AJ5. They start from AJ1 at the bottom and count upward from there, counting only the white ones. As it happens, I have a few minutes, I'll run out to my truck and see if I can find that beige wire's position and take a picture for you.

Here are pictures from my truck. As mentioned, it's not the same as yours. Not only are the connectors different and in different locations, but the wires are different colors and in different pin positions. For example, what on your truck would be the beige wire in pin position 19, on my truck is a green wire in pin position 2.

Is this green wire for your truck pin#2?

I know I got my tow haul switch working..learning about this 4 wires from switch. Start from right to left..white/black(Ground),Red-?,Green (light when turn headlight) and Beige( to ECM)..is Red wire goes to speedometer cluster to light tow haul indicator when press T/H switch.

The T/H indicator in the dash is turned on by the ECU when the T/H shift pattern is selected with the button press. The red/green wires are the illumination circuit.
