When the term iron x is used on this forum, do you experts here mean the specific brand Car Pro Iron X or can it mean any iron remover? I have seen Griots Fallout and Iron Remover, Meguiars Iron Decon, etc. Are all iron removers created equal?

I generally use it as a catch all for this type of product. CarPro’s version and Shine Supply’s Smooth Move are the two best in my opinion. Shine Supply’s is a little cheaper and doesn’t smell as bad, but I usually get CarPro because it’s available on Amazon. Free shipping and you get it faster, so it’s just a bit easier to order. Everything else I’ve tried has been noticeably inferior to those two.

@Fotnot tried Meguair’s Spray Clay. I think he said it worked well, but not as good as IronX. It is available through retail though.

The Meguiar's spray clay available at O'Reilly's worked ok. I have seen people use iron x and seemed to have better results. I'll be testing it again on my wife's van (white odyssey) and i'll be able to see how well it pulls and decontaminate's it. My paint is smoother now, but it wasn't that bad since I had just did a clay and spray ceramic wax on top just a few months before.
