I'm 70, and my wife is 66. We need running boards to make entry and exit a little easier on our new Tundra CrewMax.

Secure footing is my main interest, here. On those occasions when boots and boards both have some smears of wet clay on them, or the boards have a little ice from snow falling on them the night before - melting and then freezing.

You know how you knock the snow off in the morning and underneath there are little nubbins of ice?

What brands and models seem to work best in this regard?

If you have it in the budget, I'd go for the Amp power steps. They tuck up when not in use so they don't get covered in all that stuff in the first place.

I drive my parents around all the time and ever since I got my amp power steps XL it has been a breeze for them to get in and out of the crew max also they tuck right under as said above which makes it look nice as well they have really good line x type coating on them so not slippery at all

Ah, yes, the power steps. No, I think I'll keep it simple. Fixed only.

Well, I decided on the Rhino 20s without the steps, and without the coating. The coated ones were unavailable, anyway, so good thing they weren't my first choice. Once they're here and I have a look at them I'll decide on whether to add some traction tape.

Vang530, those steps look aggressive, all right!

I have Nfab steps that I got from 4wheelonline. They look great, but a bit slippery when wet. So, I just used a skateboard grip tape to solve the issue.

reimord: Thanks for the reply. The GoRhinos proved to be a disaster. Ordered through CARiD, GoRhino twice sent me the wrong boards and mounting hardware. For real. Got a full refund from CARiD, so I'm moving on.

I'll have a look at the Nfabs.
