Looking for recommendations. Retractable or Foldable? I prefer low profile too. It's going on a White 19 TRD Pro. TIA

I like my truxedo lo pro QT roll up cover. Also, the lifetime warranty is an added bonus.

Any recommendations will depend on how you plan to use your bed and if you want it the cover to be lockable and weather proof. Price is a big factor too.

Retractable covers take up bed space, are heavier and more expensive. Fold-able covers either store or are remove easily, tend to be considerably lighter, and cheaper. Security and resistance to elements will vary from cover to cover though I haven't seen many (there is at least one) lockable foldables.

I have an Ultragroove Metal which is retractable and allows for the use of aftermarket rack systems and accessories.

This is a daily driver truck that the bed will hardly be used.

Of those 2 I'd go foldable, but within your budget I'd look at the hard roll up cover https://bakindustries.com/revolver-x2. If we put one on the wife's truck that's what I'd get, I've had the retractable and the foldable already and won't go back - if I need stuff secure I'll stick with the Diamondback, if I just want snow protection I'll be doing some type of rolling cover.

I would go with a roll up vinyl cover if thats the case. If your needs change later you wont have to deal with a high sunk cost if you replace it. Most retractables are above the $1K mark; you may find some on sale for below that mark.

I've had the bakflip hard folding cover for 7-8 years and I've been happy with it. The only downside is that when it's folded up to gain full access to the bed, it blocks the rear window but it's not a big deal to me.

DB has zero drilling. 4 clamps and the lock pins go under the deck rails or bed rails. New covers come with spacers to go under the rail caps which just pop off, they prevent the caps from getting crushed down and possibly leak.

KevFran99 - I chatted with them online and asked for their very best price. After they gave me $839 I asked then asked them if they give a military discount and they did. We settled on $809 and some change.

Good luck brother. I assure you will not be disappointed in the MX4.

I'm favorable towards UNDERCOVER. Had an Elite in textured black on my silver Tacoma and really liked it. Put a color matched LUX on my Tundra. Very strong, no warping, great paint and perfect color match. Sorry, not very illustrative pics...

Yeah I can't do a hard cover like that. I do want the ability to remove it easily.

May get bashed but I was impressed with my flush, hard tri-fold rough country. 700 to the door. . .and the only one I remember looking at with a lifetime warranty. Pretty sure its made by undercover for r.c. . .

I ended up getting a gator efx. I like it but i hate it when i have to remove it to fit tall stuff in the back of my truck.
If i could do it over i would have bought one that folds up to the back. Other than tho this is a good one. Got it on sale for like $542 or something like that.

Check the build link in my signature.
Out of your budget range, but I had the TCUSA American Roll Cover (retractable) on my 2008 for close to 280k of the 298k on that truck and it was bullet proof. There are cons to the retractable (the canister uses up some bed space, they don’t seal 100% perfectly, and the locking mechanism requires some maintenance to keep working well) but they are locking hard tops that are out of the way when you need to get a load of material or the wife calls you at work and tells you to go pick up a piece of furniture she found on craigslist.

I’ve got the same cover ordered right now to put on my new truck...hoping it’s here next week.
