I searched the blogs but could not find anything on buying/installing a 2" front receiver mount so that I can use a 12k lb. winch on the front and back of my 2010 Tundra. I am putting on RCI skid plates as well so need something that won't impede on the skid plate.

Any suggestions on brands/models? Most mounts I've looked at are only rated at 9k lbs.

    Welcome from NY.

There was one on NY Craigslist for $50, but it's not there.
Keep searching. Kurt or Hidden Hitch are good brands and Draw-Tite.

this is the side view of mine in use. Curt hitch with home built extension. Works well. Installed fast. I'm going to remove it for oil changes instead of cutting the skid pan.

a better pix of the curt hitch install. It looks low, but is not below the bottom of the skid pan

You put so much effort into finding a 12k# rated hitch then added a home built extension? Unless you REALLY know your welding (and you may), you just de-rated your system, probably under the 9k# ratings that were not enough for you.

Uh, I'm not the original poster, I was just giving the pix of what my install looked like. Mine is used just for maneuvering trailers into tight spaces-frequently.

I would also comment that I replaced the mounting bolts. Since I kept the OEM tow rings, the OEM bolts were, in my opinion, just marginal. They worked, but measurements showed they would just be flush with the weld nuts in the frame. I elected to replace them. I used M12-1.25 x 45 JIS head Flange Bolts 10.9 grade.
