UCA Clearance

Throwing my new shoes on, I have about a pinky's width of space between the rubber and the UCA's. This seems awefully tight, looks like I'll be picking up some spacers a little sooner than planned...

How much space (minimum) do you think I should be looking for?

 

FWIW: I've been running a pinky width for going on 2 years now. No rubbing or other issues. Not sure if there is a spec for minimum clearance there, but my guess, is you'd have to have a pretty big wobble for your tire to make contact.

But to answer your question, I'd guess the minimum spacer width available would give you sufficient clearance to ease your concern.

 

That is interesting, maybe not as tight as I thought...

 

I think you'd be fine with a pinky. Although I would try airing down to about 20 psi and make sure you still clear. In case you ever need to air down or get a flat.

I have about that much clearance also. Good to know you've had no problems.
