Luckily I held back. I’m guessing there’s a simple answer. There’s really not much that can go wrong with these, so I just need to figure it out.

Nice to see someone else using DI water to wash their rigs. Can't say enough about that ResinTech resin too. I actually use Dowex Resin but ResinTech is a close vendor of ours and they sell great stuff. Just so you guys know make sure and keep track of your feed TDS and gal. you are running thru your system. The last thing you want to do is run an exhausted mixbed or any type of resin and rinse your truck/car down. I never dry my autos and never had an issue with paint (Been doing it for the last 22 years). My machine is set up at 200k which is 2 1/2 parts per million. You guys may want to check your local DI shops as a 1.6 cubic foot tank should only run you about $50 or so per exchange. If we where into residential business like before I'd recommend our tanks but since our last buy out we moved away from residential and strictly services Commercial and Industrial only. FYI Running Soft water before a mixbed will help with the life of mixbed.

Can you please elaborate on this, for those of us with new equipment, forming habits?

I’m guessing you mean we might get hose filters to soften the water before it goes into the DI tank...? Would those be like the photos posted above in this thread?

Sorry. What I should've said is running "Soft Water" Vs "City Water" is helpful. Example would be your home water softener " Which is a CATION based resin that's in hydrogen form" take that water and feed your mixbed resin VS your City water and with that water (SOFT WATER) you will extend the life of your MIXBED resin but it all depends on your TDS too. So to dumb it down I guess run this scenario if possible. If you have a "home WATER SOFTENER line" get your water source from that water softener rather than your city feed. My set up is way different from the pics posted on top since I use tanks but it's the same scenario. If you don't have "Soft Water" it's not a big issue. It's just to extend the life of the mixbed. I hope that helps & explains what I was trying to say. Let me snap a pic of my carwash setup and show you guys.

Here's my set up. Sorry I can't post pics of the name as I don't own the company and don't want to get into any problems with work.

So that hose to the right is "Soft water" feeding this tank that's full of mixbed resin. Coming out to the left is your deionized water "Spot free water" that's being fed to my carwash unit that looks like this unit below.IMG_20201008_113315.jpg This is the pressure washer I have set up at home to wash my toys down with. Hope that helps clear my mess of a story up better.

Yes, you are always going to get better results if your source water goes through a softener BEFORE you run it through the DI spot free rinse filter.

FYI: Do not drink DI water, and do not allow your pets to drink it either.

Man we have had people tell us it makes one mean pot of coffee . Had one porter tell us it taste great. People don't read the warning label on our tanks.
