TOYOTA OEM tonneau cover

I know that Toyota parts are pricey, but sometimes there are reasons for that. I currently have an American Tonneau soft cover but I’ve been looking at tri fold hard covers. I wanted to see if anyone has any opinions on the oem tonneau cover, pro or con.

 

I have the OEM one that came on my truck and it’s fine. Not sure I’d spend that much on a new one from Toyota when there are better options out there IMO.

 

Yeah, I’ve seen some less costly ones, but if anyone has good reasons to buy oem I might do so. Thanks for the feedback!

 

I have an OEM one & in my opinion the Bak Flip I had on my Tacoma was a lot better looking, operating, & fitting tonneau cover. I've thought about trying to sell the OEM one & buy a Bak Flip one.

FYI, these are not Toyota or OEM. They are from aftermarket suppliers. Finding out exactly which mfg may not be real easy.
Same for the nerf bars.

 

Mine has what looks like a Toyota part number on it... but Im 99% sure its made by Bakflip.
The cover came already on my truck and I absolutely love it. The bed stays dry and its super easy to fold up/down.

I will look at the Bak Flip. I have no complaints about my American Tonneau soft cover, it has done me well since 2012. I like that it was made in the good ol USA. I boycott China-made stuff as much as possible. It it’s getting tougher though.

 

Where are you located? I've got the Rugged Cover II for sale and still on truck. If you are close by holler at me and you can judge for yourself if it is what you are looking for.

 

Anyone have any experience with the Gator Brand covers?

I just placed an on for my bak flip mx4 today. I'd be glad to share my invoice with anyone that's about to purchase. I paid $809

 

That;s a pretty good price. That's the cover I want but I was waiting to see if they have any black friday deal. Did you get it direct from bak?

 

I did. They said if I ordered before 3pm it would ship out today. Looks like tomorrow. I was going to do the same but this deal was hard to pass up. I do have the 30 days and the price match guarantee so I'm not too concerned.

 

I just looked at the site and the price is a whole lot higher than how much you got it for. Is it a special pricing?

 

I got autoanything to come down to this price and then just had Bak price match it. I'm sure they will do the same with a copy of my invoice

 

Any luck with local I shops for hardware installation?

 

I plan to install myself.

 

Gotcha, I was looking at a shop here in Cobb, but they wanted to charge $100 for installation.
