Thought I'd post a few year old pic of our roadside tailgate picnic stop while driving up the Icefield Parkway I mentioned earlier. We took some pretty awesome photos on that trip, but none of them can grasp the scale and sheer awesomeness. And it's not like mountains are a new thing to me.

@Albertaundra, for some reason I thought that highway closed down for the winter season, now I'm guessing that isn't normally the case.

Its open all year conditions permitting. There is a sign listing conditions as good, fair, poor. When it says poor you better have 4x4 and winter tires.

I drove from Smithers to Surrey via 97 early last summer... that was one beautiful drive. Sadly, I couldn't stop to take in any of the many awesome sights as I had to be in Surrey before 6:30pm. I was driving a 2007 F450 16' cube with 490 some odd thousand K... this p.o.s. was noisy as hell, but it went like stink.

Yeah... I gotta admit, it was a butt load of fun. Gave up on the "stereo" soon after leaving the yard in Smithers as the trucks so damn many rattles and squeaks drowned it out. The air conditioning worked like a friken freezer, but stunk kinda bad (methinks it was a dead varmint in the ducts), the box would seem to be waning side to side a tad but that may have been all in the mirrors.... steering felt secure....brakes worked awesome... had a few points coming down a couple of the massive descents where I was forced to do 'brake checks'.... glad it wasn't wet, the tires were so so... told my dispatch that I would be happy to do that run again sometime hopefully in a tad bit nicer vehicle.

The bed rack is built by them (the one I like anyway) and they are a Cali fabricator, so shipping to my buddies house is WAY less than shipping up to me here. They also sell the tents I wanted, so when I factored in his discount plus shipping and some extra toys we discussed for the rack and the tent, the pricing was better.

It'll all ship together, and gives me a reason to visit my buddy, which instead of planning our family June trip with him over Skype, we'll now do in person.

Waiting stinks but once I get it, we're heading out 2 weekends after for the first camp trip of the season and hopefully will be using the RTT for that.
Just off to the Pinery Provincial Park here in Ontario.

Just checkin in with my fellow Canadians! Out west ya'll got hammered with that blizzard, hope you are all well.

We are receiving some "squalls" today but nothing in comparison and we had some major winds a couple nights ago that took out power for many, but other than my internet having gone down, power stayed on with only a few flickers.

No cool pictures were taken as I was stuck at work for most of it.

    Hello everyone!

I am new to the forum, and will be picking up my '17 TRD Pro CM this week.

For those with CMs, I am looking to get Husky Liners, and after some research, I am still trying to find how to purchase them in Canada...

For those who already have them, where did you get them? In Canada, or in the US and pay the duty/exchange?

Glad to hear all good over there.
We've had another dose of winter. It was enjoyable.

Just east of me in Niagara they got it worse though.

I would be willing to meet up at some 'half way' point the next time I'm in that neighborhood.... is there a Tim Hortons or some such place?

There's this guy on kijiji that's selling he's TRD PRO wheels with tires for $2950CAD
    Has 500km on them.
He won't sell just the wheels, will only
    sell as pair.
What you guys think of the price?

hhhmmmm... set up a meeting to check them out, tell him you will have cash in pocket without making an offer on the phone. Bring an envelope containing 24 $100 bills... I seriously doubt he will turn down cash in hand.

And one other thing... For your protection and his, make sure you do this at a police station. Get there before him and go inside to tell the desk what you are doing. I have done so four times thus far, once as a buyer and three times as a seller in two different cities. They looked at me funny and stated they will not come out and stand there to wit I responded "no problem, I am doing this here as it is safer for both parties involved, thank you."

Read this and this as to why I suggest using a police station for kijiji or similar transactions.
