Flood damage stories aside, what's the deepest water that you've driven your truck through without any adverse effects such as water in the cabin, etc.?

    Pictures would be awesome.

Blew through a puddle in the parking lot at work and the truck handled it like a champ. Had to be at least 2.5 inches deep.

With 33's I accidentally drove into this deceptive puddle, next thing I know, about 5 inches above the bottom of the door

In my old 2000 Tundra...N California. 2 times... once was in a mud bog. DEEP!! Sat in muddy water just below the window. I could literally crawl out of the window into dry land. Cabin did not leak.

Time number 2: N Cali again. Out trailing with the boys and crossed a river. 3/4 the way across I lost the "high points" and drifted about 2 truck lengths into the deep stuff. Water came up to the windshield wipers briefly until the ass end sank enough to find gravel. It was all go pedal, praying and eventually pulling the leather seats out of my own backside...ahhh. To be young and dumb again

    Deep water = [IMG]or this = [IMG]

I've been in about a foot and a 1/2 of water maybe more crossing the occasional stream up in the mountains. Sometimes you are driving on the stream for short distances. I've got diff breathers so not too worried. I rarely come across anything much deeper.

You did say "truck", not Tundra.
I took my '75 Chevrolet 1/2t across a river crossing with the water on the push side at the level of the door handle.
I'm considerably more cautious now and don't think I would do anything like that in the tundra. (Unless to escape zombies or save a pregnant woman or something)

Took my Tundra through a trail a few times with water up to the head lights while lifted 7" & 35's. Water pouring over the hood and on to the windshield. The lifted Tacoma behind me decided to turn around and go back the other way. When I felt my truck sink, I made sure to stay hard on the gas.

During the great flood of 2016 in Louisiana, had to drive through a quarter mile of water coming up to my headlights in pitch blackness.
    3/1 lift with 33's

No water damage but scared the living crap out of me. Had to do it though

One year in Moab, think it was 05-06, we had a horrible year for rain storms. In the fall, your rolling the dice in Moab.

Anyway, the rain was so bad that front end loaders were being used in downtown Moab for all the mud slides and getting the water to drain back to the Colorado River. Spots in town, we couldn't see the deck on my trailer anymore.

That same trip, we had my brothers V8 powered rock racing rig.
    IMG_0711.jpg

Anyway, we were doing Pritchett Canyon and Behind the Rocks. The rain was coming down so hard that the road between the two trails was now a gushing river.
I was contacted by a guy from TX that was coming up to spend a week wheeling with his son and recent Colorado School of Mines graduate. Well, he was in a 2003 Jeep Rubicon on 33" tires. I'll wheel with anyone, no matter what they have.
We were trapped, and had to cross. We hooked the smaller Jeep winch cable to ours for a couple reasons. So I gave the orange monster a blessing, and then the onion. We were able to cross, the rear of the Jeep was doglegging pretty good. We made it, so the first reason we hooked up was good. We all knew the smaller Jeep wasn't making it across without some help. We lined up our Jeep to pull upstream in the event he started floating away.
He took off, and his son started reeling in on the winch. Sure enough, the Jeep started floating and I hammered the go fast pedal and pulled him out. To this day, I'm impressed with the factory air box on Jeeps. Never sucked a bit of water in.

We had a little victory dance and a bunch of beers that evening back at the camp. One of the couple times off-roading that had me wondering if "this was it."

Only other time that had my blood flowing more, pistols were drawn by myself and two others in my crew. Three Mfers got the ballerina award that evening. They danced there way in and out of trouble....barely. But that is another story, for another time.

In 2004 I had a 99 Taco stock with 31s and got caught in hurricane Gaston that hit downtown Richmond. I went through a swell that was halfway up my windows, it was over top of the mirrors. The truck was a 2.7 5 speed it started to die out once and I pushed in the clutch and cleared it out and made it through. I'll try to post some pics.

Don't I know it brother! Luckily I wasn't where they had vehicles completely underwater. Not far from the areas though.
There were cars on the sides of the street for weeks just siting there, dead.

You can even see the water marks on the wall near bottoms up pizza. I tend to cruise the area but I am getting to old for the night scene.:bananadance: I always used to club hop 20-15 years ago (Have a nice day Café).

Yeah I'm gonna show my age, I remember hanging out at the flood zone ( appropriately named ) years ago. We used to sit at sunset grill across the street and listen to Dave Matthews play there before he made it big.

Just curious pard, after you got stuck, how'd you get out. Did the engine die?

Returning home through Baja from Cabo San Lucas after Hurricane Juliette in 2001. We waited several days in Cabo before leaving, still it was REALLY bad. Cabo was decimated. We had to make at least 8 crossings. The water I was pushing was curling over the hood on multiple crossings. There were lines of cars waiting to cross that stretched a mile on each side of several crossings. I'd drive up to the crossing and asses it and walk it before going. At one river, near Todos Santos, we encountered 70 stranded Americans. They'd been enroute to Cabo but were detoured to La Paz where they were put in vans and driven south 'til they got stuck between 2 rivers. People had been waiting for DAYS to get across, were starving and exchanging vehicles only to go a couple miles in either direction before encountering another river. We watched the Federal phone Co. plant their snorkel rigged ford in the middle of the 300 yd. wide river. We camped there for a day, met an ex-pat and were able to email home. My girlfriend's dad (now my father in law), we found out, was in the hospital getting ready to have triple bypass surgery. The next morning I chose my route. Problem was there were 2 Ford Rangers stuck right where I wanted to "drop in." So, I pulled their back bumpers through the 2' high bank before going. I tried to get my girlfriend to walk but she insisted on riding shotgun. About half way across the back started floating, even loaded down with with the shell and all our camping gear. Out of the corner of my eye I could see water lapping up on the passenger window. My girlfriend was stroking the dash and saying, "c'mon Juliette, you can do it..." Yep, we'd named the truck after the Hurricane several crossings ago.

On our to Cabo, I'd gotten 2 flat tires at the same time. 2 days before the Hurricane I put 4 new BFG mts on the truck. Those 2 flats turned out to be the best bad luck I ever had.

This last week I brought my truck through a water covered trail that went close to the door windows, I was actually worried when I felt the truck sink. The front bumper popped both panels out that are under the headlights. Later that evening my dash lights went out with all electric gauges and the parking brake, traction, abs, air bag lights came on, the LCD screen worked but didn't give readings. I brought to the dealer and they reset everything on the third day of possession. Later that evening the truck did the same thing but started working again last night. Could have something to do with driving through deep water.
