Any recommendations on a good broken bolt extractor set? Are Harbor Freight any good?

Yes, this time it clicked before I even moved. Normally it doesn't make the noise until I start moving.

Towed a boat!!! The truck did great, the trailer was a POS, felt like my drive shaft was going to explode at 65-70, but it was either the boat vibrating from the air sail it was creating or bouncing on the tires. It was a good time but I’m pooped, had to make the trek down the mountain to the hospital and back up because my buddy hooked himself deep in the finger. Steaks didn’t go on untill almost 930

Are we talking a rounded bolt head, or snapped head off?

Invest in a set of left hand drill bits. I've had better luck with those than extractors.

I swear, these 10mm bolts are good for nothing, not much torque and snap!

Given that this housing is plastic anyways, they should have just used a body screw/wood screw that goes directly into the plastic.

Are those from the timing belt covers? I'm afraid of of running into that when it comes time for me to change my timing belt/water pump. Very afraid.

That bolt was probably from the radiator. Thank jeebus the new radiator had new brackets.

the bolts for the covers were fine for me. The cover mounting holes themselves didn’t fair too well however. I think the plastic had deteriorated over the many years of crazy temperature swings we have in Ohio. The metal sleeves were ok, the plastic around it, not so much.

In hindsight, I should’ve salvaged some when I went to the junk yard looking for a skid plate but iirc they were worse off/destroyed or not a 2UZ-FE

Did MB use a collapsing steering column in 1966? IIRC, they became mandatory in USA in 1967.

Poked my eyes, and ears into 3rd gen territory. Talking about spending $125 on reverse lights.

I mean we're talking about guys that trade in their 2018 TRD Pro's on the 2021 TRD Pro just so they can get the newest color. I need to figure out what all those guys do for a living. I'm still young enough to change careers. :D

Yeah, but you should be able to get an Irwin set that's as good or better from any big box auto parts place, possibly hardware store.

PS - it's worth noting: You DO NOT want to skimp on bolt extractors. You will want penetrating lube. Drill deep, penetrating oil while hot, let it draw in as it cools, then back out slowly! The last thing on the planet you want to do is accidentally snap off one of those hardened-steel extractors inside the bolt you wanted to remove. If you do, you may as well call it a day and relinquish the fact you won't be getting that stub out again. Drilling out snapped-off hardened steel is an exercise in time and frustration you DO NOT want on your hands.

PPS: It costs you nothing but 10 minutes time to heat up and pre-spray bolts like this with penetrator before removing. Can't recommend that enough if you're remotely concerned about snapping something off.

I always thought Jakob Dylan was a dim bulb compared to his dad. And now, seeing this, I have 'One Headlight' stuck in my head.

I can't tell if I'm missing an inside joke, or there is another adjustment for the 06 headlights but any size screwdriver will work on my 02. The adjustment wheel is right on top.

Careful as the adjustment wheels are 'designed' for certain size Phillip and they strip easy. I can't recall the exact size of the top of my head but I'll be the first to tell how easy they strip when you use the wrong one lol.

I would be inclined to say that most are in debt up to their eyeballs.

"Oooooh, a new color. Yeah, let me trade this in. You'll give me 22k trade in? Ok, sign me up. I want that one."

And then the dealership rolled the remaining balance owed on the previous truck onto the new truck, and yahoo will sign the paper anyways. Didn't do the math.

I mean hell, I'm from Western Kentucky...
I can still count all my teeth, just half of 'em are in my pocket.

I splurged at Harbor Freight, $5.99 includes the 24" flat blade, and Philips head.

Seriously, half that length would have sufficed, but they didn't carry such a beast

@FirstGenVol , my 06 Double Cab has a different headlamp. The vertical adjustment is down at the bottom of the lamp.

I work in CT. CT gets snow, often & sometime plentiful. There's a guy at work, bought himself a Ram truck 4x4, lots of bling.
Calls off every time there is snow. "I'm not going to drive my 50k$ truck in the snow." WTF? He's a teamster for Gawds sake....
