Ever heard of or seen a fat, caveman indigenous Indian, bush-person, Aborigine?

Man survived millinea eating the Caveman diet...Meat, fish, seasonal fruits and nuts.

Zero evidence of human evolution in thousands of years. However MASSIVE shift in diet. Even if one believes in evolution fully, they cannot believe that humans evolved biologically at all since the introduction of agriculture. Bigtime Plant agriculture is a relatively new thing

We all enjoy those foods. They should be rare treats though, not staples.

There is a vocal low carb Dr in Mexico, his name escapes me. But he points out that if you go back in history, the Mexican and Latin cultures did not eat tons of corn and flour tortillas and burritos. More pork and animal fats etc

looks like my funny didn't go through :cookiemonster:

Thankfully I don't have weight issues (Stats: 35 yrs, 5'7, 145lbs), I was raised eating animal protein on every meal, about 50-70% by weight. I avoid processed meats such as ham and hot dogs, it's cured meats I probably can't live without, but only if the ingredients can be pronounced by a 10 year old, otherwise steer clear. Sugary drinks have no place in my life, but I do consume locally sourced candies made from fruits and unprocessed cane sugar, there's no high and you don't feel down hours later.

I eat about 6-10 flour tortillas every week :hungry: Genetics play a gigantic factor on your diet's effectiveness.

I would not give up meat forever, but as a temporary practice carnivore diet is a good one. It clean the body very well. As for me, I prefer to try different diets and see how my body reacts. I'm currently on this diet and I definitely feel good without all fast foods or junk foods.

Like most things today, "conventional" is horrible for you.

I've wondered how/why so many people out there preach their diet is the only way! (A lot like religion. My religion, or hell!)

I have to conclude most everyone is insane, OR they are strong believers of their preaching because it works for them, OR they have a monetary interest (moo milk anyone?)

Assuming it's the second option, which is hard to prove, they must then believe everyone is like them. Which of course is wrong.

So go what works for you.

Over the course of millions of years, we evolved into what we are courtesy of a carnivore diet. Do what makes you feel the best. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have given up eating all red meat (I should probably give up ALL meat) because I believe eating meat is one of the worst things you can do for the environment.
I have also given up eating fish, not because it is unhealthy, but because we have essentially destroyed the oceans by over-fishing.
The big picture is what matters.
Environmentally, and you can make a very good argument health-wise as well, we will be so much better off if we just ate brocolli.

Carnivore MD dr paul saladino is a fascinating show. Way nerdy with all the scientific detail on nutrition. He has morphed from supporting carnivore to encouraging honey/fruits for carbohydrates

I doubt it. The info they put out for decades has been turned on its head. The food pyramid is a joke. Hell, they've even had to retract everything about eggs being the devil. The same "studies" that said meat and fat destroy your heart have said that eggs are the devil.

Check this out. Pay attention to the bit about cholesterol and remember all the "don't eat eggs" that was pushed for years.

Egg studies are a joke. They remind me of coffee studies, one minute coffee is the greatest thing on the planet, then the next day they are telling everyone that they are one cup away from death. Egg studies are the same.

    Eggs are great for you.

Yup, and all the horror of cholesterol they threatened if you ate more than a few a week is completely busted by that guy eating 30 a day for a month. The only issues he had were because of his sensitive stomach and the mass quantities. The blip in the LDL proves that eggs are not going to kill you. It's no different than the soylent green scares, or the ice age predicted back in the 70s (before my time).

I've done it and had great results but the lack of variety gets boring sometimes.

Food has pretty much become entertainment in many cultures rather than a life or death scenario. I've gotten the variety/boredom question a lot. My perspective with it has been that if I find it boring, then I'm really not hungry; I'm eating more out of boredom than from a "need" to eat and the meal doesn't taste good. But when I'm genuinely hungry, I don't care if I've had the same thing for the last eight meals, it tastes gooood!

We’re on the same page. Years of arthritis pain, some eczema , etc.
Cut out grains and it all went away. I eat a lot of clean food now, lots of fat(meat, butter, avocados) , some type of beef, fish, etc everyday. LDL , which hasn’t proved to be harmful, went up a little but my HDL went through the roof with my tri glyceride ratio being 1:1 and fasting glucose is perfect. I felt a little low energy till I added some more fruit and honey to mixture. A egg white protein smoothie in the afternoon was huge for overall feeling good and recovering from workouts.

My wife and I have started more of a "ketovore" lifestyle recently. I prefer to stick closer to carnivore and she enjoys a lot of veggies so she's more keto.

Today I made some carnivore "mashed potatoes" that were pretty good. For anyone interested in trying them: https://youtu.be/E6vuPpXqu9A
