I have a used 2008 Tundra that I recently purchased and just discovered that it has rear parking sensors. I can't figure out 1) how to turn them on, 2) how to determine of they work, 3) are they even a function of the truck?

If the sensors are there can I assume they are supposed to work? Are these an option or standard equipment? If optional, why would there be sensors and no way to use them?

Thanks and I appreciate any and all responses.

Does it have front parking sensors?
On the dash on your right hand side there is a strip of black buttons, do they work?? Bottom one is sensor, if you press it, it should turn on with a beep..

    blackdemon_tt,

No, they're are no front end sensors. The black button on the right side is the anti-skid switch.

That's what I was thinking. Whoever did it took the extra effort to connect up the sensors to the backup lights, even though the control/reporting electronics aren't there.

    Thanks for the info.
