I used to HATE snow too, and vowed I would eventually move south, but honestly now I like having seasons. I like getting a few months of not having yard work, yes I may have to snow blow, but that literally takes me like 30 minutes. I also cannot stand the high heat anymore, so I enjoy the cooler weather. Not sure what changed, but I used to love the 90 degree weather. You may hate the heat too, but you won't know until you move.

Found a way to enjoy the snow. Hate the salt and only use the tundra for towing sleds or if snow is deep. I still coat the bottom with fluid film now wool wax and spray wash to keep rust at bay.

The Michelin’s were fine in Blizzards W/4wd on my 2010 DC. Never got stuck where I needed to get pulled out. Stuck temporarily towing our Sleds through some deeper snow but got out. My 2020 has the stock Bridgestones. Wish it had the Michelin’s.

The one thing that I hate is heat. Over the years, I’ve become less tolerant to 90+ degree days with 90% humidity. That’s what southern Maine is good for. I do like the 4 seasons for the most part. It’s just the 2+ hours of snow blowing and plowing that I don’t look forward to. Also, working outside in it for 8-10 hours a day can wear a person down.
I think, more than anything, is that I hate the anticipation of it. The possibility of a late night snow storm and what I’m going to wake up to. It’s all a mental game. In the end, I’ve been here for 45 years and I probably be here for another 45, god willing that is.

Snow is wishful thinking that will never happen, but I'll settle for not as damn hot. Almost October and it was still 100 here today.

I think you’ll be very pleased with snow performance. I was very happy last winter with them. Looking forward to the snow again!

Shit as I drink them I rotate a few into the freezer to get them right under freezing point. Very refreshing!

Exactly! The wife an I even have coined the phrase "freezer beers". Example, when going to bed "Did you check freezer beers?' to make sure we didn't leave any in there overnight to explode.

I think the stock Michelin tires are under rated. They have performed exceptionally well. Would a better off road tire work better? Absolutely. But the stocks performed well enough off road and in snow/mud I still haven't upgraded them. Gonna use them up and then replace them. 20190928_090215.jpg

How do you have the time? My truck starts drying before it's finished being washed. I have to wash and dry as I go or I get water spots. If I left to grab a beer after washing it, I'd have to wash it again to get rid of the damn water spots.

My Michellins grabbed all the snow and ice without issue last winter. Got 11" dumped in one day and I had A LOT of fun hauling around town.

I ran them through 2 winters and they did great. They don't look aggressive, but they perform better than I expected. I just sold my '18 that had new Wildpeak's on it, and now have the Michelin's on my new truck. I'll be looking for a deal on tires, but won't hesitate to run them through the winter.

i constantly keep it wet. (easy double entendre in there for someone as immature as myself)

wash roof. rinse roof. wash left side. rinse left side. re-rinse roof. wash tailgate. rinse tailgate. re-rinse left side. re-rinse roof. etc...

i takes me a while. i also wash it twice. first wash is with brush and handle. second wash is more serious with hand mit to get all the nooks and crannies (between cab and bed, between rear bumper and bed, between front bumper and grill, between door handles and door)

i use a griots pfm xl drying towel; holy cow that thing sucks... up water. fully dried in less than 10 minutes. that towel is thirsty!

I love snow and winter. I don't have much choice since we get it for 6 months a year. LOL. Studded Nokian Hakkapellita tires make for easy winter driving.

I've mentioned it before that we also have 4 seasons, ours are just a bit different than yours. We have:

    1. Hot
    2. Hotter
    3. Fuck me, it's hot
    4. Not so hot

My chains are on order. Snow is not a big deal. Doubt I will need them at all but they provide peace of mind.

Make sure to only use 4 wheel drive when the snow is deep enough that you are riding on top of the snow. Need that extra slip to be able to turn correctly.

Just be careful doing that, because you aren't insured for that I am assuming, so if you damage their car they could hold you liable!

She's right. Good samaritan laws only protect you if you are administering medical help or in the event of life-saving emergencies. They would not apply when you are pulling a car from a ditch. So you can be sued by the person you are trying to help. Worse scenario is if the pull strap snaps and hits someone, causing an injury.
