In my limited with the Nav bar I had no place to go. On this thread this post is a pic I like the location easy to get to

Anyone know how to wire this switch up? Got it today and figured one of you had already figured this out. Thanks!

What @KERNEL_DALE said. And don’t forget to clip the diode out of the back side of the switch.

I posted this with other stuff on the What have you done thread but thought I would add the FRAC portion here.
Project 4 - While I had the grill off the truck, I added the front camera and will later get the FRAC harness done. Following great advice from @InTheRough I used 1" aluminum angle and created a hanger for the camera on the grill install.

Adhered to grill with 3M VHB after shaving down lip as recommended by @InTheRough.

I wrapped the excess wire up behind the TSS and left the coupling for the camera at the same point as the coupling for the TSS in order to permit later separation of the grill. (By the way - the TSS coupling wire is a tight fit.)

Final outcome is that the camera is not very noticeable.

Now I need to find time to finish the FRAC install and wash it so I can start driving it.

@rareskills Yes, just select 2020 as your year model and you'll get the FRAC v3 harness.

Does anyone know if I use this will it retain the backup camera triggering when I put in reverse, or is it solely toggle? Is it the same if it is an aftermarket stereo like Halo9/8600NEX?

I've found that putting the truck in reverse overrides any switch selected.

I designed the FRAC Harness to maintain OEM Functionality, so if you shift into reverse you will always get the rear camera video, regardless of the camera select position. When you shift out of reverse the display will go back to whatever was being displayed before.

The FRAC Harness will work with aftermarket head units that use plug and play harness adapters to connect to the truck's OEM harnesses.

Has anyone found an aftermarket up grade for the rear camera, without having to do major mod?

Forgive my laziness, is there an updated recommendation for a camera to use up front?

It’s probably been asked multiple times but how can one eliminate the lines that show visually when putting the truck in reverse?

Natika makes a good camera. They have different styles that come and go on Amazon. I have this one but in black - https://www.amazon.com/Backup-Rear-...atika+front+view+camera&qid=1600667455&sr=8-4.
Make certain that it can be used as a front camera.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Rear is set with lines (if still using OEM backup camera) but there should be a line/wire you don't connect for front camera to not show them...

Forgive me if I'm missing something here that's blatantly obvious. I've tried searching to no avail, and I'm wondering what's needed to use the FRAC harness on a 2011 Tundra if I am replacing the factory base stereo to an aftermarket such as Alpine/ Kenwood/ Pioneer? Perhaps it won't be necessary if the h/u has RCAs for front and rear cameras, but the VIM bypass would be awesome.

    Thanks!

You would have to ask Lou @TundraTex. I do not think it is compatible with third party units but I have no idea.

The FRAC Harness works with aftermarket Head Units in 3rd Gen trucks as long as a Plug and Play adapter harness is used. The 2nd gen trucks are wired differently.

Well I just finished wiring everything up. After some cursing because I tore the extension cable to my camera trying to get it through the firewall, I ended up fixing by soldering it back together. I am using the Anytime backup camera switch and camera.

Unfortunately, when viewing the front, it is mirrored. When I apply 12V to the green wire on the camera, instead of mirroring, it flips upside down. Am I SOL here, is this just a bad camera?

Looks like a misquote above but yes I’m aware of the loop wire. That’s the green one. I’m assuming when using the extension plug it just combines it to the 12v rail. When I hook 12v up to it, it mirrors top/bottom instead of left/right. Perhaps it hooks to video signal instead? I can try that when I hook my battery back up. Also hardwiring in a dash cam at the moment.

Just confirmed tying the green wire to the yellow signal wire does nothing. Ugh.

I believe the green loop should be cut and not connected to anything. Are you using the FRAC harness?
