Hey y’all, so I finally decided to join the forum community. I’ve had the truck for about a year now, and am coming up with absolutely ridiculous ideas for the future. Since I’m single with no kids I figured this Tundra would be my “Frankentundra”, and would get another more family friendly one later. So the question; Is there any way to somehow fit a manual transmission on these things? Does someone know where to point me in the right direction? Thanks!

This would be a tough one to pull off, but if you've got the time and money, anything is possible.

The engine and transmission talk to each other in a way, so removal of the trans will confuse it and it may not run correctly, this will have to addressed through certain programming.

Whatever transmission you would want to use will need a special adapter plate to mount to the transmission, also make sure the trans you select has the appropriate gear ratios

Clutch pedal mounting brackets will have to be fabbed up to fit correctly without interfering with anything under the dash

Slave cylinder will have to custom mounted wherever you can find room

There are alot more things that will have to be fabbed and custom made to get this to work, I believe the hardest part would be tricking the ecu into thinking the auto trans is still there, or re programming it completely. If the tundra was your second vehicle, and you had tons of time, money, and some good minds helping you, I'd say go for it. It would be badass!

t56 magnum would be awesome in a tundra

As for slave cylinder, easy it mounts to the trans itself.
Biggest thing will be a flywheel, clutch, and bell housing to make it work. Talk about MONEY.
I would love to put the tundra set up in a light car. Thing would be a rocket ship.
