I think he's doing an upgrade to the POS sound system and adding it for the sub.

Routed mine through the center console.
Then I don’t have to reach to the dash for on the fly adjustments.

I didn't like the thought of cutting a hole in the interior so I mounted the bass control knob on a console organizer in my 2017-

^ That would be a PITA to have to lift the console lid to access it.

Literally at my fingertips, my hand sits on the console when I drive.
Don't even look at to turn it..
Adjust it almost every song listening to XM.

I had to modify both the knob and the console quite a bit to get it to fit. I drilled small holes so it still has backlighting too... Pain in the ass honestly.21841.jpg

I installed mine here. Honestly wished it was closer to the driver seat. I have long ass arms and it's still a bit outta reach w/o leaning over and forward a little.

Are things going to be super different if I have the DC? Im about to install a new sub and amp, and Im looking to install the knob in the same spot. How much stuff did you have to move to get that puppy wired up? Which knob did you use?

It’s also gonna depend on which bass knob you have. Different knobs have different dimensions, particularly on the larger box behind the knob. Couldn’t find a more hidden place to stick my JBL. Easy reach here though.

    A bunch
I did mine just to the left, just screwed the entire unit to the outside of the console. So it's just in front of my knee, but the light is out of my vision unless I take a quick peak. Slight lean forward to adjust it.

Great Ideas guys! I'm looking for the easiest place to put it that I wouldn't have to tear apart the center console to run the wires.

Just the gear shiftier knob, the plate below it and then the center console cover. There are you tube videos on how to.

If your amp is under the passenger seat, and your gain attaches there, the center console is really the least time consuming.

Wherever you mount it you don't want to have to "reach' for it or look away from driving to find it.
Putting in front of the console lid around the cupholder and shifter is the best place to mount it.
You can just put your hand on it without looking or reaching.
And it isn't something you adjust every few days, I adjust mine just about every other song.

You don't need to remove the shift knob, despite some videos you'll see.

Don't be afraid to take the console apart.
A little work now beats wanting to move it and having a hole drilled in the dash where you don't really want it.
