I feel your pain as I had issues on the install of Line-X on my brand new truck. Wife set it up as a surprise while I was at work. I was super happy until I realized the mess they had made. My tailgate wound up scratched, screws stripped on the bed rails, and they somehow managed to booger up the plastic on the step pad of the rear bumper (I assume when the tailgate was removed). What upset me the most is that none of the damage was told to me, we discovered it after getting truck back (dealer did the drop off and pick up). When we called them out on the issues they then denied it at first, and then finally told the truth. I’ll never do business with this particular bunch again.

Hopefully they do the right thing and fix your truck as good as new. If they don’t I would suggest calling someone higher up in Line-X who may be able to help you out with dealing with the issues and the shop.

How did they fix the stripped screws?

No one takes pride in what they do anymore. It’s all about getting it in/out as quick as possible.

Sorry to learn of this I thought Line X was top notch. That’s what I wanted to do.

Mine weren’t completely trashed. There was still enough bite in the heads that I could put a torx bit in a ratchet and back them out and I replaced them. Are yours so far gone that there’s no return? The only way I’ve heard of people getting stuff like that out is to weld a nut, left hand drill bit, or an extractor type tool.

The head of the bolt appears ok, but two of them are not seated. I put a torx socket on one of them and turned by hand and it just spins. Either it it broken or the threads are stripped.

I had a local bed liner company spray mines and has lifetime warranty. Told them what I wanted sprayed and every year pretty much remove my tailgate and recoat, the rest is still great as I have a rubber Matt as extra protection.

Many, if not most, have no issues. There are numerous threads on people who are happy with their product and installation of it.

Any product can be applied improperly by a bad shop. Don't let this away you from getting Line-X. It's not the product that is bad in the cases people are referring to, it's incompetent shops.

My dealer Rhino lines my truck but I don't think the dealer would warranty it. It did come with Rhino warranty papers.

It would be warrantied by the vendor who did it for your dealer, same as mine was with Line-X.

Send in your warranty papers via papermail or electronic and get the warranty info. I did mine electronically, with the paperwork the spraying shop left in my car after they did it. I got an email certificate back with my lifetime warranty info.

Mine is lifetime. Arranged by dealer but done by aprivate Line-X shop.

Good to know there is a lifetime warranty. I don't have any warranty paperwork but kept the factory sticker. It shows the truck came with bed spray.

Line-X does not install anything. They make the coating. All the Line-X installers are independent franchisees that license the use of the product and the name. Unfortunately, the franchise markets are heavily controlled by Line-X. They do not want new dealers coming in and splitting the market with an older, more well established dealer. That means if the Line-X installer near you sucks, the next good one might be a long ways away.

Factory sticker won't mean much for warranty, I wouldn't think.

I removed my sticker. They can't warranty off a sticker or people would buy them off AliExpress.

Took the truck back to Linex and they removed the overspray from the bottom of the door. Did not offer up anything to repair the area where I damaged the paint, which I was pretty much expecting. I have a quote of $350 to have that area repaired, dropping it Monday the 5th to get this taken care of. I removed the two bolts that were stripped on the bed rail. Luckily it looks like it is just the bolt that is damaged. I am going to get a thread chaser and clean the threads to just be sure, but the threads in the bed looked ok. I would rather fix this myself rather than letting the Linex Shop do it. I have ordered the replacement bolts from the dealer and will pick them up on Friday. So, should have everything good by next week. Dropping it for paint repair and reinstall the bed rail are the two items remaining. Would have been a lot simpler if I would have waited to let them remove the overspray from the bed, lesson learned here for sure. At the end of the day, the liner itself looks great.

I'm in Virginia Beach and trying to decide whether its worth the extra cost for Line-X Premium.

What is everyone people being quoted (paying) for Line-X Standard and/or Premium spray bedliners?

I've heard a lot of different quote prices. My local dealer said 550 for regular and 700 for premium.

One of the local dealers here just said $520 standard, $720 premium... that is a large % hike for UV color protection

I'm going with the standard since I will have a topper on my truck anyway

@rrp0968 - I would agree with this post if the Line-X dealer didn't give you any discount or credit back - they should have for all the trouble they caused. It's partially their fault for providing instructions to you on HOW YOU COULD REMOVE OVERSPRAY... as opposed to owning up to their poor workmanship and making it right on a product and service that comes with a lifetime warranty!

even though you tried to remediate their mistakes, I would not let them off easy

Hands down it is! It looks much better to the eye for one. It is a little bit shinier. It is also much much resistant to UV fading. Kind of a mood point if you have a permanent bed cover. It is tougher and resists being gouged or getting tore up. I would never get another liner without the premium upgrade.

You'd be better off to install nutcerts (thats what I did) instead of using the same nuts. They are welded to some 20g tabs and are not parallel to the rail so the threads get cross threaded real easy.

Never expect someone else to care the same or more about your vehicle. Only you will pay attention to the smallest of details. I would recommend that everyone does their own bed liner. There are high quality diy kits on the market at a huge discount. Just put in the elbow grease.
